Ocean Dog Beach - channel side in Ocean Beach, San Diego.
That looks very similar to Kona's recent groomer cut from May 28th. He has only had 3 professional cuts in the 20 months I've had him, so I'm definitely not an "every 6 week" groomer mom. This was the best one because I learned to not let them touch his ears, mustache or beard at all. I also prefer the hair to be longer on the sides, but if you allow them to use the clippers at all, then they will come out looking like a schnauzer. I think the only way to get what we are going for would require a full scissor cut rather than clippers which is super expensive in my neck of the woods. But I must admit that it is easier to comb him out when his hair is only 2 inches rather than 4 inches on the body. (I still like the long scruffy look better for Kona, but this is cute for both of them for a change during the summer.)
Sydney went to a professional groomer last Friday. This was a first for me too. We went to The Spaw in Tustin on Franklin Ave. They were very accomodating. This is the results, what do you think?
There is one thing I would change next time and that would be to leave the hair longer on the sides of his belly to cover his private parts.
I have a niece visiting from Montana that weekend, but if she is off with her friends that day (which I'm assuming she will be), Kona and Maggie will be there with bells on.
Thanks, Ro. Not many people have formally responded, so I think it is best to leave the date, and whoever can come, will. I guess my kids will be celebrating with Skip on Saturday!
