Nimbus started agility. It's so much fun! In the beginning it's a lot of learning commands and sitting quietly. :-P
We go in Moorpark. But that's obviously too far for you. It's called Happy Dog Agility.
Maggie borders on being too big for the "small dog" side. There are actually a few bigger dogs than her (29 pounds, 17.5 inches tall) that hang out on the small side, but Paul only brings her over there AFTER she has tired herself out herding all of the big dogs on the other side. She still LOVES to herd and wrestle, so we let her do that with the big dogs first. He takes Kona over to the small side by himself so that he can get a chance to run and play without Maggie tackling him before he gets a chance to tackle a new dog. We need to find some good agility classes for Maggie to focus her energy!
their wording on the "fees" is very odd. It is a parking fee per vehicle per entrance to the park. The dog park just happens to be within the park boundary, so you have to pay the "per vehicle" fee when you enter the park if you don't have the yearly parking pass hanging from your rear view mirror. Paul takes the pups there several times a week so I do know that it's just the vehicle entry fee. I've been there many many times over the last 27 years years on foot and with my bike and it's free. The fee is definitely for the vehicle. After I adopted Maggie last year and knew I'd be walking them there a lot, I bought the yearly pass and that's all you need. Nothing extra per dog or per person.
Thanks, Gwen.
When I googled El Dorado Dog Park this is what I read: " The new fenced facility is divided into large-dog and small-dog areas. It is behind the entrance gate to El Dorado Regional Park, and an admission fee is required ($5 Monday through Thursday, $6 Friday, $7 Saturday and Sunday, $8 holidays)".
I misread what the fees were for and knew that I didn't want to pay @21 - $24 to enter with my dogs. :-}
Going to check out the contest, Jolene. Eric, I hope Murphy is feeling much better today. Are you giving him some yogurt to help settle his stomach while he is on the antibiotics?
Eric, I wondered if it was the same Murphy! I'm so very sorry :(
Sure hope we see you again at El Dorado as soon as he's fully recovered.
Almost 50 and I can't count! She's actually puppy number 4-5!
I've entered Sassparilla in a photo contest, please vote for her (trying to win my birthday dinner during our next trip to San Diego). She's NOT the first doodle but #3 and #4 (sleeping with ball in mouth & you might recognize #4 from lotsa doodles calendar-Feb!) Thank you April 1 is the big five-oh for me and it will be spent with my girls.http://www.sdhappydogs.com/march-dog-photo-contest/
The only "fee" is to park. I have a yearly parking pass which covers both sides of the park, which more than pays for itself within about 7 or 8 park visits, so it's already paid for itself.
