Gwyn, are you using a Les Poochs brush for Kona? If yes, which one? I think that his coat is very similar to Nimbus'

I just ordered the green one. Hopefully it works. I was very reluctant to get a slicker brush as the grooming part of my book is totally against slicker brushes. So far I've used the Chris Christensen T-brush as well as the steel comb without moving tines.

Well.....$2000 american would make more sense if she is shipping each of us a table, blower, giant tub, ramp, and plumbing contractors to install the tub at our houses.  :-)

Hi all, I got another email from Wanda, explaining about her prices, saying that most of the cost is for the equipment. She also said that she was kicked out of the group. Anyway, I told her that this wasn't for us and that she had to keep her workshops in Europe.

On a different note - I can't wait for our romp. It's supposed to be a hot day - 80s.

Al I'm so sorry to hear about Latka, having just gone through a scare myself I can only imagine. And I know how very lucky Josie was. If there's something to sign I've got a very large office building full of dog people and ultimately signatures.

I'll have you all look into Nimbus' ears. LOL

Of course I don't believe everything the vet says. I've become very critical since working as a doula. Definitely no more blind belief in doctors! You wouldn't believe the things I've seen! So, same with the vet, I listen to her advice and then make my own research to get to my own decision.

(And my vets have all told me NOT to pluck them if at all possible.  I know that was controversial when I first mentioned it, so I know there are lots of doodle owners who believe differently than me and my vet)

Helga, Kona's ears are very clean and shiny and healthy and he has never had a single hair plucked out of him, so plucking is not necessary for all doodles.  Some people on Doodle Kisses have shared photos of their very hair-eared doodles with lots of problems.  You might be very lucky like me and have a doodle with very open, pink, and healthy ear canals that don't ever need to be plucked.

No problem Helga! No harm, no foul!
Re Nimbus' ears: have Carolyn show you now to "pluck" this coming Sat. She advised me to buy some ear powder, which makes gripping the hair much easier. I swear, Enzo doesn't even realize I'm plucking!

Sorry I haven't commented all day, but I had an all day workshop.

Yes, I was quite shocked by the price, too. Which is Euros BTW not Dollars, which is even more!!!

After I replied to Wanda's email, which I shared with Nancy, and told her that there was NO WAY I could afford that, I have not heard back from her.

So I guess she really was only in it for the big bucks.

I am very sorry if I caused any of you any grief by getting her interested in coming here!

I was however able to download her e-book.

It would have been nice to learn certain things from an expert, but I guess I'll have to wing it. Nimbus has never been to a groomer, because I want to keep his coat long. I've been trimming around his eyes, his beard, his feet and his privates. I don't know what I'll do about the ears yet. My vet said to leave them unless he has problems. But maybe I'll pluck them a little if I can get over my fear of hurting him.

Al: glad to hear Latka is doing a bit better! Ice cream always makes me feel better too ;)
