Lynda.....Yup, my summer project will include fully puppy-proofing my home so that the puppy will be safe :o) I thought about rehoming an adult dog, but #1 I want to have her grow up being used to my two cats....also I think due to size, Jerry and Billy might be less overwhelmed by the new addition. If and when I move to Oregon, I'd like to rehome a couple of doodles. I want to train with my puppy to be a therapy dog also. Hershey, the mama, has not been bred yet but is due to come into heat June 1st. About 63 days after that, my puppy will be born. So October will be a busy and exciting month. I begin student teaching in September. Whew!

Well, I guess we all know what your summer project will be! Is she a puppy or an older dog that is being rehomed? I'm guessing a puppy, but has she even been bred yet? What is the gestation for a puppy?

Mornin' everybody! It's a nice, quiet Saturday morning in SoCal and I wanted to check in here and see how everyone is doing! I just sent off the deposit check to Canadian Chocolate Doodles for my future canine daughter....gorgeous and chocolate! I am so excited. She will arrive in October, which is a good thing as I have SO much to do to get my home ready for her.

We are a Title I school and generally it means that ALL student are eligible for the interventions available at your school. It has been a while since we went total school but now on the IEP I can put interventions that the gen ed population has and not worry that my student can't also have that intervention.

I heard today that next year we will be a Titile 1 school. I am not sure what all that will entail from a special ed point of view.
btw: I had surgery last week on my right hand so am not great at typing one handed, forgive any misspellings please or incomplete sentences.

Karen - What a great class for kids (actually any age)! And your model pups make everyone sit up and take notice. Good job.

What a cool group! I'm a 5th grade teacher in NC, with a 12 week old doodle, Agnes. I've taken her to school once to meet my students -- it was a lot of fun! I wish she could come with me everyday!

Dog class update. This week we had a vet visit on Tuesday, he was great with the kids, they asked a lot of good questions, but good a little bogged down in what make dogs barf. On Wednesday, my dog trainer came... a lot of great questions agian, some on basic dog body language, what trainers do, how the are eduacted etc. Next week we have a police officer with her K-9 partner and a search and rescue team member. All the speakers have been great and the kids have been great too!
