I bring my dog Molly into school about 3 times a year. The kids and staff love her.

We haven't  had good summer weather in Michigan either! Very rainy and cool for most of it. Of course now that it is almost time to go back it is in the 80's and sunny. When the weather is so miserable most of the year I look forward to sun and warmth and that just didn't happen this year. I feel your pain Kyoko..... It took away my summer too.

I started today :-(   Kids wont be back til 26th, though.....

Here in Pittsburgh, the month os August has been cool and rainy. That took away my summer... :-(

Hi

I teach 1st and 2nd grade in Calif.  I, too will be going in tomorrow to start setting up. Ugh!!   First day for kids is Aug 21, but we have to go starting Aug 19.

I teach first grade in Michigan. We officially start after Labor Day, but I've already been mentally preparing as well as getting things ready. I will probably start going to work in my classroom next week.

Hi! Fellow teacher here heading back into the classroom this week to set up. Feels as If I just packed the room for the summer!! Love the quality time with my kids and doodle. My pup isn't going to know what happened when we all head back to school :(. What grades does everyone teach?

Tomorrow (August 12) is the first day of school here for elementary.  High school started last week and junior college starts next week.  They all like to finish up the fall schedule before Christmas and then have a nice break (at least three weeks).  We (retired teachers) have a luncheon for First Day at a hotel restaurant in Monterey.  Celebratory, of course.

I find it hard to believe that I'd be going back to work in a week... it's crazy, I'm not sure where the Summer went!

I was thinking the same thing Sue!!! We go back for PD meetings the last Tuesday-Thursday in August!
