Is there a good recipe or two that I can make to be a supplemental stuffing for a kong?

I would like to make a good stuffing that makes it a little bit difficult to get out of a kong for Orwell. Something dense, but malleable. 

I cannot use peanut butter because my brother is extremely allergic (somewhat airborne as well). 

Also, are there any good dog cookbooks or anything of the sort?

I make a Kong stuffing with mashed bananas plain or mixed with some kibble and or plain lowfat yogurt and sometimes toss in blueberries chopped cooked green beans or anything on hand and freeze the filled Kong.

You can use cream cheese.  I get the whipped kind because it is fluffier and lower calorie.  I'm pretty lazy so I mix kibble and treat crumbs into the cream cheese and that's it.  It's usually a different flavor of kibble than they usually eat.

Do you put in the freezer for over night first and then give it to the puppy or doodle right away?

I put it in the freezer but I don't think it is necessary with cream cheese.  Yogurt might be more runny and need to be frozen.

I freeze first even with cream cheese or peanut butter because it lasts longer and they can really get some gnawing in. Especially wonderful for teething puppies.

I use the low fat cream cheese, mix in cranraisens if I have them, and freeze it. They go bonkers for it. THey get one about every 2 weeks. If I was doing more often I would use something a little less fattening, replace with low fat plain yogurt, greek usually, and still freeze.  If I use some of their kibble, I reduce their meal by that amount.

I use plain greek yogurt with mashed up banana- freeze it. One for me (not in the Kong, of course! :-) and one for Winnie!

Thanks guys. I will try to remember freezing something during the day and trying some different things so I can give it to him at night. I generally make the kong for a dessert type thing.
