Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
The litter we had been waiting on is still not here. Another breeder we had been interested in but did not have what we wanted available emailed me yesterday and had someone back out of one of the males that we had been interested in. So looks like we will have a doodle this next week.
I haven't been able to sleep all night thinking of everything that I need to get done now that we aren't waiting anymore. So my questions to all of you is there anything that you can think of that we absolutely need. I have a list of things to do today, call our vet and the basics. But please list everything big or small just to make sure I haven't forgotten ANYTHING. What type of comb/brush works best with a nice wavy coat?
We originally were going to call him Max, but after watching Cinderella with the kids last night I think Gus will be his new name.
Thanks,

He is adorable! Congratulations! How exciting! The things I can think of are:
crate - bedding is optional - Bexter does great with his, but I've heard some dogs prefer the colder tray (I did have a snuggle puppy in the crate too)
I bought a dog bed (which Bexter NEVER uses...he'd rather sleep on the cold kitchen floor) Maybe in the winter...
some chew toys - I keep them in a small bin & he gets them out himself. It's cute!
bowls
food
leash
collar w/tag (I was so excited to put his name on the tag...made it seem official)
Nature's Miracle spray for accidents
Bitter Apple spray
doggie poop bags
training treats (keep by door & take with you when you go potty break w/ him - treat him immediately upon relieving
I personally use baby/doggie wipes to clean off his bottom too & keep them by back door w/leash & treats & poop bags
bell for the door if you are planning to bell train him
I bought Touch of Milk's (online) Milsheen 4 in 1 shampoo - LOVE IT
Most of my grooming supplies - brush (slicker & pin), ear cleaner, & Liquid silk protein (makes him sooo soft) come from Chris Christensen (online). I also have tweezers in case he gets a flea, cotton balls or tissue, nail clippers, toothbrush/toothpaste are also in his "grooming bin."
What an adorable curly coat he has! Love the name Gus. What kind of doodle is he exactly?
Can't think of anything to add to the list that hasn't already been pointed out. Congratulations!
