Discussions welcome about DVDs of movies, whether they are foreign or independent or even mainstream. Also, for old and new TV happenings that are better than the usual fare. Even movies that are still in the theaters. Tell us a little about them and why you liked them.

Please start a new discussion rather than use the comments section since then a dialog is easier to follow and participate in.

Ha, Karen, I love that you have an exception. Not that you are not entitled to be as prejudiced or silly or whatever as the rest of us. I watch IDol sometimes but I try not to get hooked into the whole thing, just if I remeber it. But I do enjoy Stephen Tyler too. Oh the things one admits on DK. And Laurie daughters are entitled to learn watching habits by their own mistakes.

I know Haley Reinhart and her parents. Very nice people.

I hate the reality shows like The Bachelor, etc. and would kill my daughters if they every stooped so low, but I gotta say I love anything to do with dancing or singing. Dia Frampton was my favorite.

I must confess that I'm an Idol Fan, too. I watch the Voice, also. My son and Dia Frampton (1st runner up on the Voice, season 1) knew each other when they were in high school. She sang on a jingle for us. Small world - ha!

I promise to be merciless about anything having to do with Reality Shows. "Reality" shows, what a joke of a name. Yes, very realistic.
On any given day, I've had enough reality. Give me some fantasy. Or at least some people with a tiny bit of charm.
Except for American Idol. Or anything else in which Stephen Tyler makes an appearance.

I watched Survivor long ago but I go survivored out. Let's just try to keep phone apps, tv, movies etc separate. For most anything a separate discussion is a good way to go because the search function will find what you're looking for.

Finally getting a smartphone next week so would love to hear about phone apps.

And Laurie, i love sitcoms and reality shows. And I will confess to all that we have a group of friends who get together for dinner and Survivor!!!

I have deliberated long, well not that long, and hard, well not that hard. You are saved!! I) We need members for this to work. 2) Even the noblest of us, meaning me, have watched an episode of something we are ashamed to admit on an open site 3) You have admitted watching these things on a open site, 4)I did say anything goes 5) I am willing to forget your definition of PBS if you are willing never to utter it again 6) We do need members 7)PBS shows many things with good lessons on tolerance of diverse points of views and differing tastes 8)We do need members.

F, I hope you won't kick me out of this group when I tell you I call PBS, Pretty Boring Stuff. My DH loves PBS, Discovery Channel and he loves to learn while he is watching TV. I am a mindless sitcom, Dancing with the Stars kind of gal, and if I think there is a lesson involved, I wrestle the remote from him and change the channel back to What Not to Wear.  I am anxiously awaiting the movie The Help, as I loved the book, and I might get further booted if I tell you I saw Bridesmaids three times and the last time with my 85 year old mother. I am willing to learn and change my ways for DK. I did love Pride and Prejudice and The King's Speech and hope that helps my case to remain in this group.
