What you are looking for is actually called an "open-face" Doodle. Thats what its called when they have no facial furnishings (mustache or beard). I have one (a mini), but she was little older when we got her so I knew exactly what I was getting. With a puppy it is hard to know. Just looking at the adorable face in the photo, I think I do see that "chrysanthemum' of facial fur which will grow as he gets older. It is true that the F2 has the greatest chance of producing the open face but not always reliable. The following was taken from another discussion here on DK. The gene for the beard, eyebrows, and that "chrysanthemum" of hair on the muzzle is separate from the gene for a curly coat, so there are dogs who have a curly coat and do not shed, but still have the smooth face, also called an "open" face.
