Where's the Poodle in my Doodle?

This group is for those of us with puppies or dogs who look far more like the Golden or Labrador halves of themselves than the Poodle half. This group is for us to recognize the Poodle traits that shape our dogs while sharing experiences.

He's very handsome!
I have the Neato. You can look at the reviews and stuff on Amazon. I love it. I'm amazed at how much it does get. Sometimes I will vacuum and then let it go, it will suck up more! I don't know how big your house is but, it goes through our whole house which is 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, utility room, and a really large living room. We haven bare floors and carpet. Two rooms are carpeted - the rest is bare floors. So, it might be different if you have all carpet.
You can set it up so that it doesn't go to certain spots - it comes with a magnetic strip that blocks it from going over it.
Sometimes it gets crazy and I have to redirect it, but for the most part it does what I want. I think all of these robo vacs have issues like that from what I've read.
It will also vacuum the soggy dog mat in the utility room, which is one that I can't vacuum with the regular vac. It doesn't get to the corners or anything like that though, so I still do those. I also vacuum once or twice a week to get even more picked up. My husband keeps thinking that we will get caught up someday - but it's always pulling more hair and dirt out than you can imagine.
There are you tube videos you can watch too.
We do hav to pick up some things. Like move the dog toys or anything lying on the floor like socks or the rope toy got tangled in it, but it's super easy to untangle. It goes under our dining room table and under and around the chairs too.
I'm telling you, it's a cool gadget!

How does the Roomba do with a major shedding dog?  I want one to help me keep up on the fur but was worried that there wouldn't be enough room and it would get filled too quick.

Tell me about shedding - Gracie sheds like its her job. ;) We invested in a neato vacuum (like a Roomba), it really has helped with the vacuuming chores of a household with a shedding dog. I still use the regular vacuum, but it's cut down and it's pretty cool to see what it picks up.
Also, a neat trick to help with fur on the furniture is to use a rubber glove and just rub your hand against the furniture. It works better than lint rollers or vacuuming!

We have an F1B that everyone swears is an F1 because he is not at all doodle-y and sheds pretty bad. He is currently 10 months and is just about 60 pounds. Many people think he is a Chesapeake bay retriever at first glance. Having a doodle looking dog was important to his and I would be lying if I said I wasn't bummed. But honestly the shedding drives me more crazy. LOL! Although is such a sweet dog and perfect in every other way :-)
