Where's the Poodle in my Doodle?

This group is for those of us with puppies or dogs who look far more like the Golden or Labrador halves of themselves than the Poodle half. This group is for us to recognize the Poodle traits that shape our dogs while sharing experiences.

My puppy Lucy is now 14.5 weeks old. She's an F1 goldendoodle, but she looks like a retriever. I was hoping for some wavy, I was wondering what your opinions are of what she may look like as an adult. I have pictures here from 8 weeks. 10.5 weeks, 12 weeks, and today, at 14.5 weeks.

I appreciate any input that you guys have, and I love looking at puppy before and after pictures after maturity.

The one my grand daughter is holding in the below post is the one we picked out.  The first photo he is him at 6 months old.  The second photo is one of his liter mates at 6 months.  You would never know they are siblings.

We also wanted the flat coat look.  We don't care for the doodle/poodle/teddy bear look.  When we went to pick out out puppy you could tell that the one we picked out was going to be less poodle like.  In doing my homework I found that F2 Goldendoodles (both parents are Goldendoodles) have a better chance of being Golden Retrieve like.  Most breeders won't breed an F2 liter because they could get the look you and I want.  Here are two photos of the liter when we picked out our puppy.  You can see that the coats are different enough to tell which will be fluffy or flat.

Hi there! My husband and I are adopting a DOOD in hopefully the next few weeks.... and we're really hoping we can find a puppy with a "flat coat" retriever look.Is this rare?
Or will breeders know right away if a puppy will have that flat golden look? We have been speaking to one out of state that showed us the photos below of an adorable little guy, but its so hard to know and trust someone out of state! Eek!

If anyone has any experience with flat coat doodles or-- knows how to look for them, please let us know! We're so excited to get one! :)

I think I see that tell tale Chrysanthemum of fur on his snout. It looks to me like he will be quite "doodly" as he grows up. He is absolutely adorable!

Hi All!

I have just discovered this group and thought it may be a good place to ask what any of you more experienced doodle owners think my little man's coat might turn out like? He is a mini f1b and to me he looks very wispy! Although he is soft underneath, his wispy hairs look a little more wiry (but not coarse) and I'm keen to find out if this is normal and just his puppy hair that will grow out. What do you think? I have more photos on my page too  IMG_2860.JPG
