Pippa started out not shedding but now she is a terrific shedder. She is so good at it ..lol! Im hoping since she is 8 months old that she is just losing that puppy coat but either way, I'm in love!!!

Hi Beth, as Amanda said, only the names have been changed!  Our Elsa is 12 months, is an F1b, and looks nothing like a Doodle.  I am sorry to tell you she sheds like crazy, but of course I wouldn't trade her for anything!  And yes, people think she is a mini Golden Retriever.  Cali is as cute as can be!

Beth, is she a "reverse" F1B where a doodle was bred back to a retriever?

OMG I just read this after I wrote you back and I said a lot of the same exact things you do here.! Weird. I'll have to pull you guys up whenever someone questions if banks is really a doodle. People usually think he is a lab or golden. ;)

Hello - I am thrilled to have found this group! We have an F1b golden doodle, and we LOVE her.  Her disposition is wonderful :).  She is 11 months and around 40lbs.  She looks exactly like a golden retriever though!  Seriously, you cannot see any poodle in her in my opinion!  Possibly her snout is longer like a poodle, but that is pretty much all I see :).  I was starting to wonder if there had been some sort of mix-up with her!  What a relief to see that there are actually other doodles that somehow look just like our Cali!  And F1bs too!  My main concern is that she is shedding - I was hoping for at least a light shedder.  Her shedding isn't terrible, but it's much more than I was anticipating.  When I use the Furminator brush, it's amazing all the hair that comes off.  But, we love her, and I do love the golden look anyway :).  She won 1st place in her obedience class too!  Anyway, I'd love any ideas for helping with the shedding.  And to hear other experiences like mine!  I do think our breeder was an honest and sweet family, and they were right on about her disposition.  Cali seems like a little bit of a fluke!  The genetics are fascinating.

Yogi is absolutely the scruffiest cutie.  This doodle 'style' is one of my favorites.

hi everybody! wanted to share a yogi update. he's now 6 months old (and 47 pounds, yikes!). he's found his poodle genes, and his hair is growing in thick and wavy. his crazy wisps have morphed into a scruffy beard... we're smitten!

here are a few recent photos (he just got fixed, and we couldn't resist taking pics of him in his cone!).

Pippa looks so happy - like she's smiling! ...They all do actually...That's what I just love about them - such jolly creatures;)
