Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
This group is for those of us with puppies or dogs who look far more like the Golden or Labrador halves of themselves than the Poodle half. This group is for us to recognize the Poodle traits that shape our dogs while sharing experiences.

Hard to tell from that angle, but it does look to me like he has plenty of furnishings; definitely not an open face.
Hello. I am new to doodle kisses! I have a question about my precious, 4 month old Parti, multi-gen, goldendoodle. He has a very curly, long coat and has a fairly open face at this point although half of his muzzle is different than the other side. So my question is, will my golden doodle ever have a doodle face? Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Charliedoodle, I agree with Karen that Charlie will not have facial furnishings. He has the very typical goldendoodle look of those with a flat coat and open face. So, yes, he will look like a doodle, just not what you were thinking of.
Charlie is very cute, but I would say that he has an open face and will not have facial furnishings. He has those crimped ears that often go with an open face.
Lola is truly beautiful - agreed not in a doodle way, but absolutely gorgeous in her own right. What a gorgeous color and that face - begs to be kissed. Her tail is fabulous. I am so glad you are on the other side of the downside of puppy behavior and that you have a handle on handling anxiety. Her legs look like they have what is called feathers. My Springer had those feathers.
I have a multi-generational labradoodle as well. He is the only one from his litter that is open faced and not super fluffy. It's a mixed breed dog, so I think in any litter this can happen. Hank just turned 2, and is still getting more fur down his legs and all over his body. His brown fur tends to grow longer than his white (so far). He's a big shedder too....and even the doodly looking labradoodles can shed. Our breeder did reach out to us on her own as she follows him on instagram, and refunded us a large portion of what we paid for him. He's a beautiful and unique dog and we love him even though he's not what we expected. He's my trail buddy on hikes and all my hiking friends love him too. Most people think he's a Springer Spaniel or English Setter. He's way to big for a Springer topping out at 85lbs full grown (was supposed to be 65lbs). He's a mellow giant and he's beautiful.
Good luck with your choice. He will shed and may or may not get more fluff.
Nancy, my open-faced Doodle (Pippa) was heavily discounted for that reason. Hers was a litter of 8 and 3 of them were open faced. Those three were left behind and not chosen at 8 weeks and I had my choice of the 3 when we got Pippa at 17 weeks. I went into it knowing full well what I was getting. It was what I wanted because I have always loved Goldens and I thought as a mini, there wouldn't be as much hair to shed...Lol
