Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
This group is for those of us with puppies or dogs who look far more like the Golden or Labrador halves of themselves than the Poodle half. This group is for us to recognize the Poodle traits that shape our dogs while sharing experiences.

Hi all. I only have personal knowledge of one open face and he is a multigenerational labradoodle and is my Murph’s nephew. He has no furnishings, looks much like a duck tolling retriever BUT he does NOT shed. I actually just saw him this afternoon. He is gorgeous. However, when he was a puppy the breeder said she has no idea if he would shed. If shedding is an issue for you I would tread carefully. I
Luna was an F1 mini/medium goldendoodle.
Karen - to add to your comment that furnishings does not = non-shedding... would you agree that NO furnishings = shedding for sure? That would be my inclination.. I have no data to support it of course but it would make sense (for labradoodles/goldendoodles or any other doodle combo made with a shedding dog).
Luna was an F1 mini/medium goldendoodle.
And plenty of multigens and ALDs are included in those who do shed.
Here's the group. You can see the variation of all kinds of doodles who do shed :

I agree that the white puppy does look like he/she has furnishings. And the adult dog's face is shaved. Whether or not the dog is opened faced or not, I can't tell, because the face is definitely shaved.
However, I would like to add that furnishings and have little do to with shedding. Go look at the dogs in the Shedding Doodles group. Lots of cursl and fleece, lots of furnishings, and they all shed to some degree. My Jack had no lack of furnishings and he shed very heavily.
If shedding and doggy odor are very important to you, a doodle puppy is not the right choice for you...ANY doodle puppy. There is no way of knowing whether or not the dog will shed or have an odor you dislike as an adult. Go with a purebred Poodle or other breed that is absolutely guaranteed not to shed, and not to have that 'wet dog" smell, lol.
Jacqueline, this baby is beautiful! However, if you are specifically wanting a Doodle with an open face, this one does not look like it will be. She/he has a bit of fluff between the eyes. I could be wrong. At this age it really is difficult to make that prediction. My open-faced girl is an F1b Goldendoodle and she had very flat hair with no fluff even as a pup. How old is this puppy?
I agree with the others, lots of red flags here.
