Did I read somewhere that Dasuquin was recalled from Amazon? It was made in China and not good. I can't find anything about it because the search function still isn't working. Anyone remember this or…Continue

Last Thursday we made an appointment to establish the dogs at a vet and to have Kona's ears examined. He had a double ear infection because while I was on the mainland for two weeks, no one remembered to take care of doodle ears. It's only his second ear infection in six years. Vet visit #1.
Then the crazies happened. On Friday at the beach Kona's eye became bright red and then it was white and swollen! We rushed him to the vet. He had a laceration on his inner eyelid. So very…

We have been in Hawaii since July 3 and 4. Moving to Hawaii with dogs is incredibly complicated and stressful. For four months I fretted and worried that I would not cross every t and dot every i and my precious doodles would be quarantined! I worried so much I could not actually talk about it. My DD and I would begin a conversation regarding all that needed to be done to get them there and I would have to stop and take a break. Hawaii has no rabies so in order to keep it that way dog owners…

As many of you know, Jennifer (of Jennifer and Jack) has serious health issues. She was sent to National Jewish Hospital last year to try to find help for her Cystic Fibrosis and other unrelated chronic conditions. They discovered a hole in her heart and attempted to repair that with some serious consequences.
Jennifer has the opportunity to be at National Jewish again, and I am hoping some of her friends at DK can help her out. She was supposed to be in Colorado for a short time but…

Several weeks ago I noticed Kona had a sore on his tail. It got to be the size of an almond with a black dot in the center. I took him to the vet. A new vet I had never seen before put him on a course of antibiotics. When the 10 day course finished the wound looked the same.
My regular vet saw him this time and told me Kona had a tumor and since it didn't respond to the…
ContinueYes, time does fly. Isn't it funny that Kona used to remind us of Hercules (my Portie), and now he has the phantom coat like Zeus? Kona and Owen have stolen my heart too. Please give them a big hug from me. :O)
Is Kona the 90-pounder and Owen the 75-pounder? They are both still squeezably adorable! My Zeus resembles Kona's phantom coloring and he's 90 lbs. - can't believe my kid is 5 years old now. Gosh, your hairy kids don't look their age either.
Thank you so much for the encouragement. I think your daughter in law has a great idea. Paz's trainer selects the therapy dogs for Sloan Kettering, so I'm sure she could make the arrangements when Paz gets a clean bill of health. Have a wonderful, safe and peaceful holiday.
Poor Kona...Ellie does the very same thing...and her dinner time is 5pm as well...it usually begins about 4:30ish and she starts to ask for her dinner and it just breaks my heart...half an hour must feel like a lifetime to our sweet dogs...nice chatting with you Bonnie...please give Kona a big hug from Ellie and I.
Awww...Bonnie you are so very sweet...thank you so much for your kind words about my girl...doodle hugs to you and Kona...XO
Bonnie, I am just reading your comment to me. I am so behind :) I have been walking since I broke my toes....LOL! Yes, they are much better. How are you doing? How is your family?
