It's a Doodiful Life!

Profile Information

About Me:
Britny and Brad spend a majority of our free time with their Doodles. One (Payton) wasn't enough so we decided to get our 2nd (Zoey) 6 months later. Believe it or not, 2 Doodles was perfect, but we decided to rescue our 3rd (Dallas) on Chistmas 2007.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
We have 3 F1 doodles.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder, Rescue
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
Doodles are extremely good with people, very cuddly, and smart. Not to mention, they are the most adorable dogs on the planet!
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Swimming, rollerblading, sliding at the elementry school playground, Doodle Romps, and fetching the ball. Dallas has recently fell in love with the TV so she likes to watch Animal Planet <------ This is unbelievable! She will watch TV for hours straight if we let her!
Does your doodle(s) shed?
A little bit but nothing major
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
We do! Too expensive to pay for all 3 to get trimmed every 2 months.
Favorite Doodle Products?
Ice cubes, peanut butter, baby food (fruits), bananas
Relationship Status:
It's Complicated

Wow... three big doods... we only have two, but I would love to have another. What was the biggest difference between having two and then three? I would love to let Bodzin and Jack come play.... do you go to romps?

Hi and thanks for the info! Well, we picked up Fozzy Bear this evening and he made himself right at home! There is no doubt in my mind that he is a Doodle. He was one of a litter of 11, so I am going to try to keep in touch with the families of his siblings for play dates, but I will also take your advice on the IDOG info! Thanks again!

Thanks for the info! I'm trying to convince DH to let us get Oski a little brother 'cause I think he's a little lonely. We've been discussing it a lot & I think it might just happen this summer, altho he did make a great point that we'll have to buy a new car with the second dood--we currently have a Mini Cooper LOL

Someone contacted me telling me you were looking to do some therapy work with your dogs. First Friends K9 Training in Fishers off of St Rd 37 & 126th St has a great training program, they offer the Canine Good Citizen testing as well. You might also do a search of Delta Dogs for the Delta website, there is a lady in our area that does certifications for Delta. Most places will require that you either have the CGC or Delta certificate for your dogs. There are several workshops and organizations throughout Indy that have therapy programs, once you get linked up with them they will provide you work.

Hi. I read your blog: Our third Doodle, a Rescue from IDOG & was wondering how Payton & Zoey adapted to having Dallas in the home. We have a 14mo goldendoodle, Oski, who came to us as a puppy from a breeder who is a very gentle & empathetic dog. I wonder if adding a rescue dog who may have fear or separation anxiety issues may make Oski scared or sad for the other dog. This is sort of a bad example but we recently had a mouse problem & one of the mice was caught in a glue trap near Oski's bowl. Oski was so distressed by the mouse squeaking that he wouldn't go near his bowl even tho he was hungry--needless to say we figured out that the trap had a mouse in it from Oski's behavior. So I wonder if he's such a sensitive dog that he will be too sensitive to the new dog's fears?

Hope you're having a great holiday :)
