Actually, sounds rather normal from my experience.  But a good idea to start your relationship with your vet.  It couldn't hurt to get him checked out.  I think your long car ride was an excellent opportunity for some early bonding.  I was looking forward to a long car ride to pick up our new pup, but had to cancel this car vacation because of health problems in my husband's family.  I am going to fly up to get the pup.  We will still have plenty of time to bond.
