About Me:
I am an animal lover with 2 dogs, a Corgi and an Australian Labradoodle, 2 cats, 3 horses and a husband. My children have all flown the coop and I'm enjoying my empty nest.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
I have an 18 month old Australian Labradoodle named Chester who is registered as a Therapy Dog with TDI. He runs agility and does obedience. We hope to get into rally, but are working out his adolescence. Chester is a magnificent animal and a wonderful companion. These dogs have souls.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
I was intrigued by the cross and had actually never been around one before I picked him up at 8 weeks. The puppy pictures on line were the most adorable ones I had ever seen.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Chester does barn chores with me. He thinks that is his job. He loves long walks, visiting with friends and agility.
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Nope!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
Blue Dog Grooming
Favorite Doodle Products?
Didn't know there were any.
Relationship Status:
Married

Animal Behavior

Chester and I were invited to speak at an Animal Behavior class at SUNY Cobleskill about Australian Labradoodles and Therapy Dog International.  Actually I did the talking and Chester worked the room. He really enjoys his job!

Hi Jenny! I added you to the mailing labels in the Holiday card exchange group B and put a note on there so everyone would know to add you to the list if they had already printed out their labels. I use to live in Upsate NY too, I can remember driving through Cooperstown...it's a small world. Chester is very pretty..

Jenny, thank you for the link on the "levee". One of these days we're going to head to Piqua and check it out. I drove through Piqua last week on my way home from Greenville. I rescued a doodle from a shelter in Greenville.

I often wonder how long it will take Duke to settle down. I must admit I haven't worked with him much lately and I really need to get him back into some kind of training class, Sheba too. They're great dogs and I'm so glad they're good with all the foster dogs that pass through here. I'm hoping that my husband will be able to attend the classes with me so that both of the dogs can attend at the same time.

Harlow has lightened to more of a cafe but has stayed dark brown around her elbows. Congrats on your agility runs today.

When I saw your profile picture I thought who put Harlow on their page. Chester reminds me a lot of my girl when she was youner. Welcome to DK BTW.

You're right, they do look like they could be related! They both are pretty darn handsome!

I was so impressed to read about Chester's accomplishments. Sheba and Duke have both passed the CGC test...Duke barely squeaked by. We are waiting to see about Sheba taking her TDI test. They have to have a certain amount of dogs ready to take the test before they'll offer it. It's the closest place to me, otherwise it's a long drive to the next place that offers it. Sheba will be 2 on Christmas day and Duke will be 2 on March15th. Even though they're close in age, their maturity level isn't. Sheba is little miss almost perfect and Duke is my bad, crazy, sweet boy.

That's funny that you're from Piqua. I have been there about a zillion times. OK, maybe not that many times but a lot. Do you have family there? I was just telling my husband about the really big, pretty cemetery in Piqua. I thought the Miami-Erie canal went through it....do you know?

I love Doodles!!! Right now I'm fostering one for the Doodle Rescue Collective. Her name is Annabelle. You can find a little write up about her on the main page here on DoodleKisses. Go to the bottom of the main page and you will see there are some dogs listed for adoption on Petfinder. Just click on Annabelle's name. She's a sweetie. She was spayed today so she's pretty sleepy. Poor little girl. She keeps grumbling.
