There are some excellent standard poodle breeders here in the Midwest; Terrifick in Addison, Avalon in Wisconson, Highview in Michigan, Judge in either IL or IA, and there are many others. You have to understand that these are show breeders so their dogs will be in show cut, but the puppies are not. They do not advertise like doodle breeders, who are only breeding dogs to sell them for $. Quality show breeders are breeding for the "perfect' dog. Their websites are not full of pictures of puppies for sale; they have fewer litters because again, they are not breeding puppies for money alone, and they treat their own dogs a little better than to breed them constantly, lol. Check with Great Lakes Poodle Club, they will be able to direct you to breeders in the area with puppies available.
