I work for a New England breeder in western MA--we have lots of doodles in your area...I am glad your son is not allergic to your doodle--he is not very poodle-y and this is USUALLY not a good combination for allergies--but you never know what will work! Accept my friend request and we can talk privately.
She's so pretty, Rebecca! The wait is so nerve racking but so many of us are in the same boat! As we all bode through the waiting game for about 1 year (from what I've heard), it looks to me that Finley's sweetness will last forever.
So glad that Finley doesn't bother your son! Aren't allergies odd? My most allergic child is allergic to tons of plants, hamsters, gerbils, rats - all those little rodent type furry animals as well as cats and horses, but NOT dogs. We are so lucky. My daughter is more asthmatic due to weather and plants, but cats are absolutely a no-no for her. My least allergic child doesn't have hayfever or asthma but is allergic to the nickel in many metals - jewelery, snaps, helmet fasteners can be a problem for him.
I can't wait to see pictures of Finley as she grows. One of my son's adopted a labradoodle rescue puppy who is 10 months old now. He has changed quite a bit as he has matured. It has been fun to watch. Ned looks much the same as he did as a pup and Clancy was already grown when we adopted him from a rescue.
Finley might not end up with the usual 'doodle look' as an adult, although many doodles change tremendously from pup to adult! If allergies and shedding are a concern, you need to know that doodles being hypoallergenic is marketing hype and many, many doodles do shed and are not allergy friendly. Are your son's allergies light or severe? Is he known to be allergic to dogs for sure? Two of my children have allergies and asthma, but neither is allergic to dogs. Cats, on the other hand, make both miserable.
Finley is adorable. Hope he's home soon.
