About Me:

Hello! My name is Shelby and I am a native of Nevada! I am currently a social worker at a foster care agency and I am also graduating with my masters degree in May 2010. My husband Ben and I have been together for ten years and have been married for seven. I guess you could kind of say we're high school sweethearts. My husband works for cox cable installing and disconnecting services. Right now due to being a student I'm kinda busy, however I am interested in meeting others who love their doodles as much as I love mine!

2.5 year old Black Labradoodle named Mable Claire, and a 10 week old chocolate labradoodle named Phoebe Louise

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?

My husband and I got our first dog two months after we bought our first house five years ago. Originally we wanted a labradoodle because they seemed so goofy. However, at that time in our lives we needed a "free to a good home" dog. Thats when we found Sophia. A 1.5 year old black lab. We named her after the mother off the TV show the Golden Girls. For three years it was me, Ben, and Sophia. Ben and I had talked about getting another dog but I was so busy with school I couldn't imagine taking care of another animal. Until one day I was looking through the paper and I could barely believe my eyes when I saw a free labradoodle. Although my husband was out of town on a fishing trip I called, and the owner decided that I would be perfect for a six moth old doodle! Eventually my husband got over the fact that I got a new dog and Sophia was stubborn, but she loved her baby sister! Last month we had to put Sophia down because she quickly developed a large brain tumor. I miss her so much everyday! I knew that Sophia would not want Mable to be alone so we decided to get another doodle and she is definately helping to ease the blow of loosing my first baby.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?

I love to snuggle with them, swim and play fetch.
