Profile Information

About Me:: I am retired and married to the greatest guy for 37 years. My DH still works but only weekends so we have lots of time to go camping, hiking and kayaking! We have three wonderful grandchildren, ages 8, 2 1/2 and 5 months old!

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: We have a beautiful F1 goldendoodle whom we named Myla! She was born March 12/12 and she is a snuggler - and a digger and a chewer!!! We love her to pieces!

Where did you get your doodle(s)?: Breeder

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: Six years ago there was an ad in our local paper and I had never heard of them but was intrigued so I "googled" them and fell in love so we bought one. Unfortunately she passed away last year but we would never have anything else now.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: We do a lot of hiking, camping and kayaking but she is still a bit young for the hiking and I am a "fairweather kayaker" so it has to warm up a bit to go but so far she loves camping and we love playing fetch and of course snuggling!!!

Who grooms your doodle(s)?: Hasn't been groomed yet - she's 12 weeks old tomorrow.

Favorite Doodle Products?: Nylabone and stuffies!

Relationship Status:: Married

A Weekend Getaway!

We travel a lot and always take Myla. Last weekend we decided to visit our brother and sister-in-law in Vancouver for three nights. We have done this many times in the past. They have an 18 year old cat, Tyrone, who tolerates Myla when we go to visit but usually hides. Unfortunately Tyrone is very ill with kidney issues and we decided that it was not the time to stress him out with a visit from Myla so we asked our son Steve (who is Myla's favourite person in the whole wide world) to…

It is hardest on my sister who lives in the same town :) LOL I am going home soon to help, but it doesn't give my sister the relief she needs. We are hoping she can get a Home Health Aid to take care of the many errands my mom needs someone to do :) Very frustrating for my mom that she can't do stuff for herself. We didn't take him then because we wanted to think it over to make sure we wanted a third dog. Well, thinking lasted less than a week because we drove the 500 miles round trip the next Saturday to pick him up! Myla is really a cute doodle.
