Yesterday afternoon I was taking the dogs on their daily afternoon walk. It was HOT, I was tired and we were walking along the start of our greenway, which is adjacent to a very busy road. Two lanes, but still very busy. Peri's collar just came unsnapped - I had the leash and collar in my hand. 5 seconds felt like 5 minutes. My heart was about to leap out of my chest.

I couldn't think of what to do so I just said "Peri WAIT". (why not SIT??) She just stood there…
