Yes, it is that time again--when I raise Lyric's pups and they reach the tender age of three weeks old, the hats that I have fit them perfectly. These hats are part of the costumes from a collection of bears that I own (Muffy Vanderbear) and boy, do they look cute on the pups! These pups were all pretty sleepy since they just had a long visit with mom--but that makes it even sweeter in my opinion!
These are the girls--and then the blog program makes me stop adding pics--must be a…

I have bed bugs! Not the tiny microscopic kind with a gazillion little legs. I’m talking about the hairy four legged kind with the extra long bushy tail that swishes past my face at night.
We are losing the bed battle!

We have had a couple of discussions lately about our Doodles and if we are educated enough when we bring one into our family. Christmas is also right around the corner and many people have that new puppy on their Holiday list. I thought this would be a timely re-post.

Patsy is a Llassa Apso - Poodle cross who is extremely protective of her one puppy, Patrick. Patsy started to nail any dog that ventured near Patrick's puppy pen. She even nipped Holly to the point where Holly growled (an unusual occurrence from Holly). Patsy lost three of her four puppies because of neglect in a California shelter. Three puppies were somehow drowned in an open drain. So we can't really get down on Patsy but, we cannot have her nailing the dogs who are curious about…

Every Thanksgiving my aunt and uncle come for the Thanksgiving holiday. My dogs are always happy to see them, except if my uncle has his hat on and then Vern barks at him like he has never seen him before. Sometimes I think Vern needs eyeglasses or at the very least, an IQ test. My uncle could be in the middle of petting Vern and if…

I thought it was important that we shared a birthday thank you note with each of you. You all made Harley feel so special posting birthday wishes during his Thanksgiving “Birthday” Holiday Celebration (Whew, that’s a mouth full)…
I can honestly say, with the brief exception from “Tom the Turkey” all eyes were on Harley this weekend. He is still glowing and…

Yarrow is just shy of 12 weeks now. She'll be three months on December 10th. My hands are so sore from all the mouthing and yesterday she broke the skin and left a bloody little gash on the back of my left hand. I was putting her leash on. There was no intention or effort on her part, just an open mouth and razor sharp shark teeth. Anyway that's not news. Here's what's new.
I've just joined the group Training - Experiences and Mindsets. In the discussion, Lucy and Annabelle's…

It's been nine days since Charlie arrived. He's very calm for a puppy his age (most of the time). He sleeps a lot. He's had seven accidents in the house since we got him. Started the bell training today. I didn't think the bell was going to be necessary before, but I was wrong. He's doing great with "sit" and "down". I began clicker training today and used it outside last time he went potty.
He still has challenges in these areas:
1. Digging - We are…
