I thought this was so cute...Something to think about for those struggling to train our doodles..

Ususally Bailey sleeps in her crate all night.  But this AM after my DH went to work(at 4AM) I snuck Bailey into bed with me. SHHH don't tell him.... She jumped right into bed with me and made herself comfortable.  She usually will lay down with me in the AM for about 5 minutes or so and then is right up and ready to go.  But this morning she slept with me for 4 hours.  It was nice having a "snuggle bug" for the first time....

Was a little nervous about starting intermediate class with Bailey this AM even though we are using the same trainer as basic.

I do have to say it is the most diverse group of dogs.  Picture in your head.  First: Rickie the chichuaua, very well behaved, no leash required and he is "titled" in training.  Then there is the cutest mix breed dog.  This guy is always looking like he is smiling..Next up a Great Dane, what a gentle giant he is.  Then there is the sweetest german…

How fun...so glad I did this.  The doodle cards are starting to arrive.  mine will go out this weekend!!!

Here are a few out takes from my photo shoot with Bailey today.  I do have to say she did do really well even with all her "costume changes".  It is amazing what she will put up with when she is bribbed with bites of hotdog LOL.

Bailey passed Basic Obedience Class last night. 

 It has been a tough 6 weeks for us.  Our class only consisted of 2 pups.  the other was a very out of control giant Schnauzer (sp).  I felt so bad for the dog.  The owner had not a clue and you could tell she wasn't working with her at home.  In class last week she actually hit her dog.  I thought "Wally the Trainer" was going to blow a gasket.  He took a deep breath, looked at her and told her in a…

One of Bailey's pictures that was taken this past weekend is being used for a website.  Michael shoots pictures for "The New Barker" magazine here in Florida.  He and his wife Heidi also own a company for pets in Palm Harbor Florida. ..  I am really excited that they also mentioned that I am looking for a doodle group...

This past weekend we went to a event that was being sponsored by the Dog Fancier's of Jax, FL.  While we were there we met up with a couple that owned Yappy Place in Palm Harbor.  Michael Howard is a professional photographer for a magazine for Florida dog owners called "The New Barker".  They approached us to see if we would mind if he took pictures of Bailey and possibly use them in their magazine.  Don't know if the are magazine quality but they made their FB page.  I think they turned…

Well first trip to a groomer was a success.  Alittle pricey but work it.  Bailey had a pedicure, bath, girly parts trimmed and her ears done and it was $60.00.  I have nothing to compare it to so for now I won't complain... 

I did panic at first.  When I dropped her off I talked to the groomer about what I wanted and she said OK no prob.  Her last words were, I will give her a "BC".  which stands for breed cut.  So I leave, get home, jump in the shower and start to think..BC?…

Well, last night was our second training class.  There are only 2 of us.  I was early ...as usual.  And the other student was  late : (  She has a giant schnauzer that is VERY unruly...Her owner has no control over her and she is only 5 months old.

I felt bad for the trainer and her husband.  You could see their frustration with her.  You could tell she had not worked with the puppy at all.  She still was using the retractable leash that they told her not to use or bring to…

Bailey and I had a beautiful walk today at Boone Park.  She was not to co-operative when it came to looking at the camera.  Out of about 50 pictures these were the best and they are so-so... Don't worry, she was on a leash, love Photoshop!

A quiet Bailey equals a doodle gone bad...  Poor girl got caught in the act of chewing on my little scarecrow girl.  Bailey is trying to hide her face with no where to go...  It did make me laugh...

Busy saturday with the pup..

Off to buy a new training collar, then to the park and maybe hit a pumpkin patch for some picture taking on the way home..

So excited....Bailey and I start formal obedience training this evening.  I have been working with her a little here at home but tonights the night that both our worlds change...for the better.

I found a trainer that does small group classes.  He has 35 years of K9 training.  He has trained police, search and rescue to the good ol' everyday mutt.  On paper he has a lot of experience. He also is a certified AKC tester for all the different tests.

Well, my little Bailey gets spayed today.  I know she is in good hands with my vet but I am still a little worried about her.

We have a fabulous dog park here in Jax.  It is 42 acres of fenced in areas that are seperated into play areas for small dogs, senior dogs, kids and dogs, agility nature trails and then the mack daddy area with walking trails and open play areas with a pond.

I was really apprehensive about taking Bailey to the park because of some of the horror stories I have heard about dog parks.  But I thought I would at least give it a good try.  We started off meeting the nicest couple…

So excited to be taking Bailey to the beach for the first time tomorrow.  I do feel like I am getting prepared to take a toddler with us.  Toys, water, extra towels, long leash, treats for the ride home.

We are only planning to stay an hour or two...don't want to overdue it on her first visit...
