Zoey will be 16 weeks old tomorrow.  I can't believe how time has flown.  She had a visit to the vet yesterday and weighed in at a whopping 12 lbs (still scratching my head at how big I think she's gonna get...it may only be 12 lbs, but it's a solid 12 lbs when she likes to climb up you like a mountain goat).  Overall the vet visit went great...at least in my mind...I'm sure having her AG's expressed was a less than pleasant for her LOL...but she has been licking and chewing like crazy at her hiney so the doc thought that might be it.  Unfortunately for my wallet, not the case and she put her on a 2 week round of antibiotics to clear up what they think to be a mild infection from Zoey not "cleaning" herself properly.  Nice!  Anyhoo...hopefully this will do the trick.

We've learned a few new things/tricks over the last few weeks.  1) Dirt clods apparently taste best when it's nice and wet on the lawn so that my paws and muzzle are covered in mud by the time I'm done 2) No matter how loud or how frequently I bark at the dog next door, he is just going to quietly sniff from the other side of the fence and not engage in puppy chit chat 3) No babygate can stop me from going upstairs, but I will prevent myself from going down the stairs, no matter how many treats mommy puts on the steps to trick me to come down them.  4) New patio furniture is really comfy to lay on...especially after a light rain.  My fur mops the water right up.  5) I might not be able to go down those stairs, but I figured out how to take a flying leap off mom's bed which is 3 1/2 ft. off the ground.

Tomorrow is the first day of puppy obedience training.  Puppies don't come to the first class, which I am kind of happy about.  I have had Zoey on strict quarantine since she came home, due to the severe cases of Parvo in the community. She basically has not been out of the house, accept to the vet or to visit Grandma & Grandpa.  Zoey still has her final in her Parvo series and her Rabies vax to go (in 2 weeks).  I am breaking my commitment on keeping her quarantined through all of her vaccinations, so I am a little freaked out about this, but I really did not want to have to wait till November to get her into this training (specifically wanted to take this trainer's course, so I would have had to wait another 6 weeks and I am not sure my sanity could take it - LOL).  So I go tomorrow night without her and am sure I will be sent home with some homework to do.  Anything to get some new ideas on how to curb my little landshark right now would be helpful.  The biting, nipping, (holey pajama pants) and barking are giving me gray hairs...LOL.  So hopefully I will be given some new tools.

In other news, my brother is coming to visit later this week.  He is staying with my parents, but so does Zoey during the day while I am at work.  Zoey will also be making her first overnight there on Saturday, as I am going to be away for work.  Still not sure how he and I grew up in the same household with dogs and he does not seem to be a fan...mind you he & his family have their own 3yr old Cocker Spaniel (whom he claims was the wife's idea, not his).  So I am sure to hear how much he dislikes her biting, licking, etc. while he's here.  Hopefully he will just suck it up and play nice (and hopefully Zoey steers clear of destroying any of his personnel belongings or I will never hear the end of it).

16 weeks of puppy-dom and counting.  It's been a wild ride so far.  Can't wait to see what the future holds for the Adventures of Miss Zoey!

Enjoy every minute of puppy-dom, as it'll be over before you know it!

It is pretty true that the 16 week weight doubled is CLOSE to the adult weight.
