- About Me:
- I was the proud momma to Baylee, a quirky, sweet Golden Retriever. Sadly, I had to put her down in September 2010. In January 2011 I began to feel to urge to open my home to a new furry friend. Loving the nature & temperament of Golden's I really wanted another one, but realized in owning one that my lifestyle would suit a slightly smaller dog better, so I began looking a Golden Doodles. I found a terrific breeder in Northern CA and began the waitlist process hoping to add a new puppy to my life soon. On July 30, 2011 Zoey came home. We're still very much in the getting to know you phase, but she is such a sweet, loveable girl, I just know she is going to bring such joy to my life

- Zoey is an F1 Goldendoodle from Almond Blossom Doodles in Modesto, CA, born June 7, 2011. Momma is Miss Anja, Daddy is Mr. Casey.
Weight Record:
8 Weeks - 5.7 lbs
12 Weeks - 9.75 lbs
16 Weeks - 12 lbs
6 months - 21lbs. (oops guess I slacked off keeping track)
10 months - 26lbs (guess I REALLY slacked off keeping track)
- Where did you get your doodle(s)?
- Breeder
- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- Love, love, LOVE Golden Retrievers, but my lifestyle suits a smaller dog better. Get the best of both world's with a GD.
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- Take her to the park and pet store, play fetch and snuggle time.
- Does your doodle(s) shed?
- A little bit but nothing major
- Who grooms your doodle(s)?
- So far me...but eventually going to need to find someone good that can keep her more Doodley than Poodley

As the holidays approach & the year comes to a close...

I realized the other day that I have not blogged here is quite awhile. Just logged in to look this up...HOLY MOLY...its been almost a YEAR! Wow...2012 sure must have been keeping us very busy with work and play.
Zoey is doing great, which is a BIG improvement from this time last year. Right after the holidays I'd had her fixed and getting through the recovery from that, I literally cried for a week as NOTHING would keep this dog from pulling/licking at her stitches. Frustration…

Puppy, work and life in general have kept me away for awhile. It's hard to believe that we are in the midst of the holidays and that Zoey is almost 7 months old! She is still just a little over 20#s, so I am beginning to question how big she is ultimately going to get. She's not a big eater, so maybe that is part of why she is still so small, but I am kind of enjoying it and thinking that if she doesn't get too much bigger, that won't be such a bad thing...she is just a little too big to…

Work has been insane the last few weeks...did I say insane...I mean INSANE (&@$^^&%^&$@%^#$%@!!!!!! Because of my crazy schedule, Zoey spent a lot of extra time at Grandma & Grandpa's and with my brother who was out visiting for the week. The good news is that he & Zoey got along famously (mainly because he is the only one she seems to mind LOL). Zoey will be 16 weeks old tomorrow. I can't believe how time has flown. She had a visit to the vet yesterday and weighed in at a whopping 12 lbs (still scratching my head at how big I think she's gonna get...it may only be 12 lbs, but it's a solid 12 lbs when she likes to climb up you like a mountain goat).
