Hi folks!

Well Penny's been with us now for half her life so far, probably doesn't remember her mom or siblings anymore, not that I'm gonna ask her...ha ha! Would she give me a straight answer anyway?

The allergies seem to have gone away, changing her food worked totally, she was so much better almost immediately, and now a week later, doesn't scratch anymore than other dog does from day to day...what a relief. Glad the cure was so simple.

And the hotter than hot days have gone too, temps are reaching highs of low 80s and high 70s, Penny seems much more comfortable all round. She's now enjoying spending much more time in the yard just letting the world go by.

She's barking at the cats a lot less, which is making them more acceptable of her. Yesterday, Bunny was laid in her usual position on the back of the sofa in the dining room, and Penny jumped up on the sofa, straddled Bunny with her front paws and looked down on her. On previous occasions, Bunny has looked up, growled and spat at her, and Penny just ignores that but gets a bit loopy and jumps up and down, which of course turns the cats right off. But this time, Bunny just ignored her, and Penny licked the top of her head, and then laid down on the sofa...so cute. I think Bunny has realized that Penny is no threat and is coming to accept her.

The teething has begun, Penny has now lost 2 of 'em, both at the front, one top, and one bottom jaw! The first one was a couple of days ago, and she seemed a little listless that day, but soon picked up again, her gums are very pink at the back where new teeth are coming, and I'm sure that's what bothered her rather than losing one of those itty bitty teeth at the front...I'm happy they're going, those little things are so frikkin' sharp! I've had lots of advice from you guys on what she should be chewing on, ice cubes are good, especially when she drops one on the kitchen floor and has to chase it around before claiming it again. Frozen wash cloths are awesome, and putting a little water in her kibble has made dinner easier to eat as she was off eating the day we noticed her first tooth gone.

Again I've failed you guys on the action shots, Jeri and I, especially Jeri have been so busy, that we just haven't had the time to go anywhere much, but we're working on it. We have rain forecast for tomorrow, it will be the first time since Penny joined us, so I'm looking forward to see how she reacts to that. This week, I really haven't got much to report, so I'm leaving you with another random photo of the Penster....ha ha!

So glad to hear that your heatwave is finally gone, and that Bunny is starting to relax around Penny. Great shot - can I hire Penny to do some work around here???

Why does everyone think I'd like to have rain? Thanks for all your wonderful offers, but I like the dry season, we get more than our fair share during the winter months thank you very much

I like your pictures especially the one with the caption! My 5 month old LD is loosing his teeth but he seems to be sailing right through it so far! When my 7 month old GD lost her teeth it didn't seem to bother her much either.
I guess my pups chew on eachother enough that they don't need much else!

That's good to know that Penny probably hasn't forgotten her roots, I did wonder though as she didn't pine at all when we brought her home. Hopefully we'll be meeting up sometime soon with another member on here, Katie and her dog Twinkie, Penny's sister. Yes Hannah, I did find that toy you told me about, it's in the Doctors Foster & Smith catalog. I'll be ordering one in due course.

Dogs never forget where they come from. I had raised and breed Siberian Husky's and my puppies would come back home for a visit, they remembered being home and would head right out back looking for their swimming pool to play in, and looking for their Mom and Dad. It was amazing to see. You can always visit Rainy PA, we have had more rain this summer and hope it's not a sign that we will have as much snow this winter...or we will be weeble walking a lot. Where you able to find that toy I told you about, that you can put water in and freeze, that last so much longer than ice cubes and keeps them really interested for a long time. Love Penny's pics....

I love the bottom pic! Don't be too sure she has forgotten her family. We had a reunion of Fozzy's litter and even though there were probably another 10-12 dogs there, they all gravitated toward eachother! Pretty inseparable in fact!

Thanks for the update. My pup is 3 weeks behind Penny so I know what's to look for.
