Well how about that, after all the calls of "don't stop the weekly blogs", I then miss two installments and nobody says anything..ha!
I'm back, but I will definitely only be posting sporadically from now on, possibly monthly, but who knows? The only reason being is that now Penny is growing up, there isn't really anything new to report, which although a shame, it does mean life can return to some sort of normality for Jeri and I, especially I, as I have kind of taken 3 months off to make the transition of having a puppy in the house a little easier for all concerned. Jeri works long, intense hours, and despite the fact she works from home too, doesn't have the time to spare that I have been able to do.
Firstly I'd like to report that relationships between our cats is definitely getting more relaxed, as can be seen in the photo below:
The latest news about Penny is, she is completely healed from her spaying and dew claw removal. The stitches were taken out last week, and she hadn't bothered them in between, so there is hardly a scar showing now. Her half shaven front ankles however did make her look a little spazzy, so we knew trip to the groomers was imminent. But we wanted her to have some fun in the dirt first, so she's been for a couple of trips to doggy day care this last 2 Wednesdays. After the first visit she looked like this:
So the next day a bath was in order, and here's the aftermath of that:
Now Penny likes to lay at our feet while we prepare food in the kitchen, not necessarily begging just being there with us, which can be a bit awkward when she's very relaxed, see below:
However she does still give us lots of laughs with her antics, like rearranging her furniture, or should I say her bed, like in the photo below which was all her own work:
Bunny our eldest cat, although she gets on well with Penny, does enjoy those quiet moments when Penny is at doggy day care:
On Penny's return from doggy day care this week, she was in an even worse state, her fluff was getting matted, the fur around her mouth was crusty...yuk:
So we bit the bullet, took her to the groomers, known as Debbi's Doggy Detailing here in Woodland, and 2 hours and fifty bucks later, a new dog was in our lives:
We purposely asked for a short cut on her legs and body to try and cut down on the matting, I love her look when she's scruffy, but she feels gorgeous when she's had a trim, and I'm sure she's more comfortable, certainly acts it.
I'm sure it's just coincidence, but since the surgery, Penny seems to have grown up a lot, she still has her moments with the odd brain fade and the occasional zoomies, but generally she is a lot calmer, not needing constant attention, it's nice to see, but it's a shame to say goodbye to the puppiness too. But it's allowed me to get back to work. I've recently taken advantage of Google Ads to try and encourage more graphic design work to come my way. I've had an ad posted for a couple of weeks now and now have two new customers, so any of you out there with your own businesses, I recommend giving Google Ads a try.
Anyway that's it for now folks, see y'all around sometime.
