A boy and his dog...er his aunt's dog

Callie and I spent all of last week in Memphis with my family. While Callie has visited several times before, this was just a special trip. This is where my nephew Benjamin fell in love with Callie. Now Benj and his (fraternal) twin Drew have always loved Callie...they play with her (Callie Tag being the favorite), talk to her, etc, but this trip something just clicked. Benj wanted to be with her all the time. He's always been a dog lover (and at the age of 8 is a major care-giver of their schnauzer Maisy...he feeds her, went to all the training classes, and loves her). Callie was feeling it too...she loved hanging out with Benj and was especially fond of playing soccer! Callie drew the line with two things...she would only take commands from me (which crushed Benj...he fancies himself quite the dog whisperer) and she would not sleep in his bed.

By the end of the trip, my B-I-L was on petfinder looking for a medium sized dog. They are potentially interested in a doodle!! I'm not sure if it's for Benj or for Maisy (M was also a big fan of Callie's...she's come a long way from when she literally squealed like a piglet when she first met Callie)

We live in Memphis so I was curious to see if I knew your nephew. My son just turned 12 so I am in the kid loop. Such wonderful pictures. It looks like love at "first" well not first but close sight.

Oh that is sweet. My nephew was the same way with Rosey last Christmas, she wouldn't sleep with him either but he couldn't get enough of her!! I hope they get a dood!!
