Traveler isn’t much interested in the ocean, unless a wave sneaks up behind him and gets his feet wet. Somehow I always expect him to be really excited about seeing a huge expanse of moving water, but he’s much more interested in whatever driftwood he can find and drag over to me, hoping for a good game of chase. Driftwood was sparse during one section of a walk, but he did find an orange. Why would there be a lone orange on an unpopulated beach? Darned if I know! If a dog could say ‘ick,’ that would have been his comment, but...there wasn’t any driftwood handy and a dog’s gotta do what a dog’s gotta do.
He never gets too far away from me, and this is a typical pose. Waiting. Alertly.
We found another doodle! I don’t know if Jacks and his dad are on DK, but he’s sure a cute little guy. He’s even groomed! But Trav doesn’t bark at his pals and is generally a most excellent playmate.
And it was sunny and relatively warm--at the beach in January!

Funny one, Ricki! The little seals DO look slug-like. LOL
Tara probably would have mistaken that seal for a giant slug and been terrified of it!
What a beautiful day to photograph wonderful memories. Thanks for sharing.
I have no idea what Trav would have done if he'd been allowed to approach the seal. I suspect--circle and bark. He just watched the sea lions in Newport, but they were about 10 feet below us, beside the dock.
I'd love to take Luna to the beach sometime - definitely won't happen in January here though! I think she would LOVE the beach.
Beautiful photos of beautiful doodles!
Oh, that little seal is just so cute! Trav could have made a new friend!! :)
Great photos.... looks like everyone had a fun time!
Pat, This is the most darling photo! What a little cutie. It looks like it is about to lift that flipper and wave at you!
