Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

One early morning, Charlie and I took a long walk around the neighborhood. The sun was starting to come out, and it looked as it was going to be a nice sunny spring day.
When we were almost home, she decided to stop and sit in a middle of the street.

She tilted her head this way and that, looked at this tree, and gazed at that yard.
She was watching all of these birds starting their day.

I wanted to rush her as I had to get ready for work, but I stopped.
When I started to pay attention to the birds, I at least heard 8 ~ 9 different chirpings.
We stayed there for awhile, listening to them, watching them. Did I ever appriceate this?
The moment washed my soul and prepared me for the day.

I forgot to pay attention to these little pieces of happiness, consumed by chore and duties of the day swollowing me like a huge wave. Thank you Charlie for reminding me to find the happiness in a little details of the day.

Isn't it wonderful the things our Doodles can teach us ~ stop and smell the roses

Isn't it nice? Makes you feel like being in tune with the world itself....

It is really sad how busy we are all with our lives. It is wonderful that you were in touch enough to grasp his fascination with the beauty of our world that we too often overlook. Thanks for the perspective.

We sure do learn a lot from them... They let me know that we share this planet with them....

What a beautiful reminder of how much these dogs enrich our lives.
I too have learned to appreciate the beauty of the world on my twice a day walks with Jackdoodle. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be out there, seeing all the bushes and trees bursting into bloom, learning which sound means a cardinal is nearby, discovering baby rabbits in their nest.
Gives new meaning to the words "guide dog", doesn't it? They are all "guide" dogs, in their own ways.
Thanks for sharing this with us.

We learn so much from them - don't we? Sometimes it is just the little things - to stop and be serenaded; priceless!

It is wonderful to take a moment to "smell the flowers" something we so often forget to do. What a great way to be reminded. Thanks to Charlie from all of us who needed reminding.

I'll have to remember that the next time Yankee does that to me. I think he often tries to tell me to slow down but I don't listen.
