Well, our Stella got spayed today, so she is spending the night at the vet.  I wasn't sure how Seamus would act without his sister home, and I have to say it's just so sad seeing him without her!  He is moping and has his ears back and won't do anything other than follow us around.  I came home late tonight from work and I got a slight tail wag with a gaze behind me to see if Stella was with me.  He won't chew an antler and didn't even finish dinner! Poor guy!  It's amazing how much they have bonded in such a short amount of time.  There was a time when I couldn't imagine our house without our big boy Seamus.....now I can't imagine our house without the two of them together!

My Stella was spayed last week. We did good to keep her quiet for 3 or 4 days, then it was "game on" and she was her normal crazy girl self.

Is it common practice for the sweet baby girls to spend the night in the hospital after being spayed? I had a boy and he was home in a few hours.. The next one is going to be a girl, though she really is going to be my moms we will be in the same house

Keeping them quiet is the hardest part. Fudge ended up having to have a cone and a wrap. By the end of the recovery period, I was willing to share a bottle of wine with her to keep her quiet...but my luck, it would have made her more hyper. LOL. Good luck and quick recovery to Stella.

Glad to hear Ms. Stella is home and doing well.  Now the challenge begins.  They tell us to keep them quiet for 12 days...yeah right!!!!  It is impossible, even with only one Doodle.  Gracie was having zoomies all the time and they were in the house!  Now you tell me...how do you stop those??  ha ha  Seamus is not going to like being locked up in the man cave for more than a few hours knowing his Sissy is upstairs waiting for him!

Thanks for the well wishes everyone!  Stella is home and aside from the stitches and throwing up once, you'd never know she had surgery!  The challenge now will be keeping her "calm" for the next week.  Seamus was overjoyed to see her!  Right now, she is in a tee shirt because she is going for her stitches and I don't think a cone is an option for her....and my husband and Seamus are currently banished to the man cave in the basement because Stella is being naughty and chasing after her brother. lol it's good to have her home!

How is Stella today?  Is she home now?  And how happy was Seamus to see her!!!!!  Leaping with joy?

Hope by now Stella is home all safe and sound and Seamus is happy once again although he probably won't be able to figure out why she won't play with him.

I can remember when it was time for Lucy and Sophie to be spayed, DH and I were anticipating the night alone for a Good nights sleep for the first time in a couple months.  The girls would get us up anywhere from 3-4 times per night to go out to potty and we were dreaming of a solid nights sleep.  So, just to mix it up a little the girls slept all the way through the night the night before they were to go to the vet, so of course we missed them like crazy.

We are wishing Stella a speedy recovery so she can get back to playing with Seamus.

Samantha is dictating this for me to type -

I am so sorry that you so sad! Cheer up Seamus - Stella will be back tomorrow doing all those sister things that drives you crazy!!  As much as my sister, Charli, drives me insane with taking my Moo out of my mouth just when I start playing, if she wasn't here for even 1 night, I don't know what I would do.

All of your Doodle friends are here for you! She will be home soon - don't worry!!!

Love,

Samantha
