Hi everyone!  Just wanted to post a blog to check in and apologize for my absence from DK.  Things have been crazy here at home (good crazy..but still crazy nonetheless lol).  About a month ago we began a home remodeling project (changing the basement from man cave to playroom for our 10 month old son).  My husband is still mourning the loss I think lol.  But anyway, that remodeling project came with lots of unexpected twists and turns and made for a much bigger project than we…

I haven't been on DK much lately....I returned to work from my maternity leave about a month ago and I'm still working on the crazy balancing act.  lol I don't think I will ever master that!

I wanted to post a blog to check in....but more so to also encourage other DK members who live in the tri-state area to also check in after Hurricane Sandy.  We live in Sayreville, NJ  (I'm not sure why my profile says otherwise...have to change that)  which is very close to Raritan Bay/ River.  While we are so fortunate, others in my area are not.  We sustained no damage and obviously have power and heat back on.  As we are all getting power back and watching the news for the first time in…

It's been quite a week here in our crazy house.  For those of you who don't know, I have a 6 week old son, Patrick, and 2 doodles.  (I have noticed, however, that I post far more crazy stories about Seamus than I do about Stella....he's a monster lol).

Happy birthday to my big doodle, Seamus.  He turns 3 today!!!  I can't believe how time flies and that now Seamus is a big brother to not only Stella, but Patrick.  =)  

As I'm typing this, Seamus is trying to lick Patrick's hands and still doesn't listen when I say "No" like a 3 year old dog should...lol...but we love him anyway  ;)  …

Has anyone ever seen the movie Hachi?!  OMG I thought Marley and Me was a tear-jerker but it was nothing compared to this!  It was a beautiful movie about a dog and the true friendship that dogs give their owners.  I have often read on many of your posts that our dogs choose us...we do not choose them.  This movie gives new meaning to that statement.  I guess technically this is a children's movie.. it's rated G...but to me was a bit mature for little ones.  If you haven't seen it, do…

Hi everyone!  I had posted a few months ago that my husband and I are expecting our first baby this May.  We found out right before Christmas that we are having a boy!!! Seamus will finally get the brother he's always dreamed of lol.  And Stella will get to be a big sister.  They have been so funny lately as we are beginning to put together the baby's room.  They go in there allllll the time......I think they think we are making a room just for them.  Stella even hides her special chew bones…

With all the recent postings of dogs on craigslist and whatnot, I wanted to share a rescue story....it's not a doodle, but I still thought it might make you all smile.  =)  

My husband and I were at a Christmas party last night and met a little dog (lab whippet mix) named Raisin.  lol I can't get over the name.  Raisin was rescued by the party hosts after he was abandoned by a lake near them (Hamilton, NJ area).  He was extremely close to death and spent 2 weeks in the vet and another…

On my way home from work today I was talking to my husband on my cell phone. He was already home with the pups.  He had let them outside and was having a hard time getting them to come back inside.  They were standing right by the door being their usual snotty selves and refusing to actually step foot in the house.  I told my husband, put me on speaker phone.  Once he did, I said to them, "Seamus, Stella come inside and wait for mom by the door."  It…

We haven't been on DK for a while because Mom has been super tired and hasn't been taking out the laptop for us....Mom told us we're going to get either a little brother or a little sister in May......We're hoping it's a cat that we can chase all around the house....but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

My husband and I went to the Middlesex County Fair tonight and we think we spotted some long lost doodle relatives!! They certainly resemble our doods...especially when they get their summer haircuts.  Check it out!

Mom caught me the other day stealing the cool stickers that are stuck to the bottom of every single one of mom's fancy dining room chairs.  I have no idea how she caught me!! Seamus turns 2 tomorrow!!! I can't believe it!! My pup is turning into an adult.......well kinda.....at least according to his age....He still sometimes acts like he's about 8 months old!  =)

Hehehe not quite.......but he has gained a mini me.  Stella Dora had her first summer hair cut and when I arrived home from work to see her new do, I thought I was looking at a shrunken Seamus!  If there was any doubt that they were, in fact, bred from the same parents, that's been put to rest.

I always say that I find doodles to be so humanlike.  Well, here is another reason why I say that.  Seamus (my almost 2 year old doodle) has recently developed the habit of sulking when he is angry at us...particularly if we won't let him romp outside.  Our dining room was built off of our kitchen and is two steps down from the kitchen.  We also have a backyard exit from the dining…
