Oh the attention these doodles get!

My husband and I took our 2 doodles to the Pet Expo last night in Edison, NJ.  Well, our doods had TONS of fun meeting other pups and even Smithfield the painting pig.  I am still amazed, though, at the attention these dogs get.  We were stopped constantly by people of all ages wanting to pet the pups and ask us about them.  But what really made me laugh was the fact that we were stopped 3 times by people wanting to take pictures WITH our dogs.  LOL (I'm talking grown adults here.)  Too funny!! No one asked to take a picture with me =P

The other day we took Huff to the mall and many people lined up to take pictures of him. One person pretneded to pet him in a picture (I think she was afraid of him) its like preteding to hold a landmark. No one has ever tried to buy him yet. But I think we did find one of Huffs littermates.

I know what you mean, we took Oliver to the beach, and people just kept coming up to us to pet him and marvel at how cute he was. And then there were several that asked if they could take his picture, and could we take a picture of them with him!!!!....Of course we did it, proud parents that we are, but I too could not get over the idea that these dogs are such people magnets...

Same thing happened to me in the bank the other day. This woman who has a bearded collie asked about my breeders. According to the bank "ladies" as I call them, they know her and she may be working on her husband to get a labradoodle.

We go through this all the time.  We have even been "stalked" (ha ha) by people who just followed us around watching Gracie and then finally stopped us to pat her and ask questions.  We could just feel them behind us following us all around.  Same thing...photos of THEM with OUR Gracie...not with us in the photo!  People what to know all about them, where you can get them, etc.  Funny though...I think more people are familiar with Labradoodles because we always get asked if she is a Labradoodle.  We tell them she is a Goldendoodle and they look at us like...huh?  My DH and I now have bets...when we take Gracie with us and go into a store or location, we bet on how many times we are going to get stopped and asked about her.  We took her into REI once and 15 people asked us...all in one store!  Unbelievable...but doesn't it totally make YOUR tail wag!!!!  It is the best feeling don't you think?

Shelby has had pics with other kids too!  LOL  She is our lover girl and at the New Smyrna Beach Parade we walked with the Volusia Humane Society and the next day there were folks asking about the big white dog for adoption!  Sorry guys,  Shelby is with us.  Funny huh?

It was fairly quiet when we were there.  Lots of booths to buy things......lots of rescue organizations.  There is a fenced area where the pups can play with other dogs.....pony rides......some booths offering people stuff (jacuzzis, kitchen remodeling, etc).  There is also a "main stage" where they do shows and stuff with animals.  It was a good time...but we mostly enjoy it just to walk the dogs around and see other dogs there.  =)
