In a four hour procedure, Jess was closed today. Due to the length of time he was open they had to use a technique with his pectoral muscles I was not too interested in hearing the details of.
And so we wait. The next 36 hours are crucial. I have been on pins and needles which did not make me too perky to meet my new cardiologist. When I went to the office I recognized one of his colleagues as the doctor who took Jess up to cath lab in the first hospital. In making the appointment I had a choice of doctors from this group, I chose “Klee” – as it is the name of one of my favorite artists. A nicer man you could not meet. Not only did I immediately like him, he happens to be a great, great, great nephew of the famous artist. The office is not near a Home Depot, but relations to a great artist is also a decent criteria for choosing a doctor in my book.
As I am telling my new doctor my story he is looking at me with more understanding than I realize. He knows my story well, as the attending surgeon (not in his medical group) had told him of this patient he tried to save three and ½ weeks ago, and repeated the story only two days ago, obviously still upset from this tragic event.
I was pleased to give the follow-up and let him know that Jess is still hanging on and he was closed today as his wife becomes a cardiac patient as well…
I am prescribed more drugs and I will get a two day nuclear stress test. Initial examination (aside from the high blood pressure and arm tingling) does not show anything glaring.
The stress test won’t happen until April, so I am hoping that things will calm down before then and I can get a clean bill of health so I can focus on the care of Jess.
Meanwhile Phoebe is still into the upholstery in the den so I had to buy some keep off spray of some kind. She probably will like it.
Really wiped out. Doodle kisses and sweet dreams. J and P.
