Last Thursday Abel got neutered, got two baby canine teeth pulled, and got his last set of shots. I though he was going to hate us for sure!
When I picked him up at the vet at the end of the day he seemed a little droopy. His tail wagged and that was about all the happiness he could show. Outside the vet he took a pee that must have lasted a good 40 seconds! He must have been holding it all day! That night I waited an hour or so to feed him just like the vet told me. I fed him half the amount and he scarfed it down as usual. I had to go out for a few hours that night and my fiance stayed with him. When I returned that evening he was pretty much back to usual. They told us that he should avoid stairs and jumping on furniture. In our house he has to go up and down about 10 stairs each time he needs to go outside and we couldn't really stop him from jumping on the furniture if he wanted to. He was good and left his stitches alone so he never did need a cone. It has been almost a week and his tiny stitch wound is pretty much healed. As for the teeth, we will just have to wait and see how the adult ones come in. We're crossing our fingers that they will come in normal! For anyone who doesn't know, Abel has a malloclusion so we got his baby canines romoved in hopes that the adult ones will come in normal.
