I found a really pretty park for Bailey and I to walk in the mornings.  A city park with paved walk ways under beautiful shaded trees that is only about 2 miles from my house.

So off we go to explore my new find...walking up the trail and we come around the bend ..I see two shadows on the edge of the woods...I take off my sunglasses and what do we have facing us but two wild pigs...

It scared the crap out of me...Bailey was sitting and she thought she had some new friends that had come to play with her hehe...Then I realized....  the one time that I don't bring my camera hehe...Thankfully I had my cell phone with me to capture the moment before I made a run for it ...

I am a city girl...didn't know if these guys were more afraid of me or the other way around...And I wasn't sticking around to find out !!

Oh my,  how did Bailey react?  My Murph would have gone completely crazy if he saw this pair.

You were very smart to get the heck out of there.  Those pigs can be mean.  I think you are going to have to hire  Jane (Rooney & Stuart) to go dog walking with you.  She is coming to PA to help me out with geese and gophers.  LOL

Wild pigs behind the lake, outside of our house.  LOLI'm laughing so hard - we've had this problem - wild pigs are taking over here in Florida.  Where do you live Elizabeth?  Do be careful though - they can get very big and can be very mean so yes it is wise to steer clear of them.

I did some reading.  Interesting.  They have poor eyesight and probably did not see you.  There are wild pigs.

Here is the article. http://www.coestatepark.com/wild_pig.htm

I'd also call the city parks department and report that you could not enjoy the public park because of the pigs.

I'm a city girl also, so I have no idea...but I want to say you ran into a wild pig or wild boar.  And... that is dangerous.

Maybe I'm wrong but I think you did good by getting the heck out of there.

Well that would be shocking!! We see the occasional rabbit or even a fox now and then, but no pigs!
