We rescued Angelina from a Los Angeles shelter on Valentine's Day. She had been wandering the streets as a stray! Usually, our rescue Maltese have to be just about clipped down to the skin because they are such bad shape. However, although Angelina was dirty and somewhat matted; Judy managed to save her coat. This was a nice Valentine gift for us and an even better one for this darling little girl.

What a busy day!
Angelina was adopted today by a family with whom she seems to be very happy! Their 11-year old daughter is just madly in love with Angie and she returns the love..
Judy is driving Jupiter and Maggie Mae up to Temecula (about 15 miles north) to do a house visit. Maggie Mae is still terrified of men and this is an all female home to which she might go (if the everything works out). Jupiter can get along with anyone but, he just loves Maggie Mae and she loves him.
As soon as Judy left, I got two inquiries regarding Marney and both families seem very interested. They sound good over the phone and have submitted their applications. If the Jupiter and Maggie Mae adoption works out and Marney goes to a furever home, that will mean four adoptions today.
i would say about 90% of the families who meet our dogs and with whom we do a home visit eventually adopt the dogs. We screen the applications quite well and we usually don't get many surprises.
BTW: You can see the dogs I am talking about on www.americanmaltese.org.
We will have only two fosters with us if all four adoptions go through. These two dogs both have some veterinary problems and won't be available for adoption for the foreseeable future.
However, not a problem. We won't be lonely. We have a pair of Maltese waiting to come in from another family who are losing their home.
And, of course, we have our darling Goldendoodle Holly and the our five resident Maltese (of whom three were originally rescues).
She cleaned up very pretty! She will be adopted in no time.
Such a pretty little girl and such a nice Valentne's Day present :)
What a beautiful girl. I'll bet you have many, many applicants before her March 1st availability.
Angelina is so beautiful after her day at the spa! Thanks for helping her to find her forever family!
Looks like she loved every minute of it!
Thank you for showing us the gorgeous Angelina, thanks to you both she is sure to get a wonderful home. I don't understand how these dogs end up abandoned. I suppose I never will.
Impressive grooming! Looks like a happy girl! She will be home soon!!
She is gorgeous and a wonderful job Judy did. She will be in her forever home in no time for sure.
Yay for you guys once again!!! Angeliina is adorable and she was so good when Judy was grooming her. Gee, you re-homed a dog just the other day and now you have one again. You two are Saints!!! Hugs to Holly from Gracie Doodle!
