When I was a kid, I hated broccoli but, now I love it - either cooked or raw in a salad. I dropped a piece when I was preparing a salad the other day and my dogs went crazy over it. So now I add it to the kibble topping I give them. Brocolli has lots of vitamins and minerals.
My kibble topping consists of...
London Broil
Yams or sweet potatoes
Carrots
Pineapple - seems to keep any rescues from eating poop
I cook these ingredients in a slow cooker for a long long time and then puree the mixture in a Cuisinart Food Processor. However, I now toss a couple of handfuls of brocolli flowers into the processor before I puree the mixture I add the raw brocolli after I cook the ingredients so as to etain the vitamins The dogs go crazy for it and the color is really not bad. I expected a slimy green but, it is the food's regular color with pieces of green throughout!

Cooper used to love broccoli and carrots but went off them. I gave my inlaws dog some, and monkey see monkey do, Cooper wanted some too. She loves them again!!! Silly doodle
Sounds like a delicious brew.
Webber loves cooked broccoli, Seda not so much! The meals at your house are clearly fancier than mine!!
Haley absolutely LOVES broccoli, any part of the plant. We grow it in our vegetable garden and after I harvest the main heads if I don't keep an eye on Haley he will pull the whole plant out of the ground and eat the leaves and chew on the stalk and roots!
Hmmmmm...can I eat at your house? London Broil, yams and broccoli...that would be a pricy dinner!!
YUMMO!!!!
I wouldn't feed broccoli every day (it's toxic if given in large amounts if I remember correctly) - but as an occasional treat it would be very tasty and nutritious!
From what I just found - the culprit is the isothiocyanate in broccoli which can be a stomach irritant. The sources I checked though said that it's only really a problem if it's more than 5-10% of the diet.
Your recipe sounds pretty yummy!
Sounds very healthy!
