Another Milestone

I feel like a mom who just took the training wheels off her child's bicycle.... In recent weeks I have noticed that Tori no longer rings her bells by the door to go out. (Sniff, sniff) She must think she's too big now for such immature communication - lol. Miss "Big Girl Panties" just walks by the door and either just looks at us as if to say "Uh I'm waiting, here..." or gives a little yelp. I'm so sad... I miss hearing those bells ringing... maybe I'll retrain her to ring them again... or better yet, start training "someone else"....

Don't you just love the look she gives you when she stands by the door? So expressive. It's amazing really that dogs start doing this without any training. Makes you know they can communicate and do think ahead.

Karen and Jack ~ DON'T think I haven't looked and looked and looked already! I hear a little twinkle in your type too - LOL. I'm one of those mothers who LOVE their kids to stay young and innocent... (and proud to say - a bit over protective too) heck - my son wants to stay home for college next September and I am THRILLED! My younger son wants to "live with me forever, even when he's married" and that's just GREAT too. so ... happy to hear those bells stop ringing????? NAH!

I would like you to spend a day with Beemer....he rings the bells when HE has to go out....he rings the bells when COMISKEY has to go out (ringing the bells is beneath her!)....he rings the bells when the phone rings...he rings the bells when the timer goes off on the range....okay...you get the picture.....enjoy the silence.....

Congratulations to "Miss Big Girl Panties" on her newest milestone, and as for training "someone else", that might be just the ticket! Go look at this week's slide show again, all those adorable puppies might give you an idea....
