Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Well, we are still living out in the country, preparing to move. Darwin is loving all of the extra people and space of course, and I think he's going to be sad when we leave. The funny thing about it is that there is so much space and places for him to run free but we never let him because he gets so filthy. Not to mention matted and covered in burrs. His coat is just terrible for this type of environment... like velcro.
So, now that spring has come I decided to get him shaved really short so he could run, swim and explore to his hearts content. (also I was getting sick of his wet stinky beard LOL) The haircut is about 1/4" and I asked for 1/2" to 3/4", but I don't even mind. It will take longer to grow out this way, and he seems to be loving it. He's been very frisky... LOL
Here is the most recent photo I could find of him before the haircut. It was taken 3 or 4 days ago during my SIL's b-day.
Here are some photos I snapped of him yesterday. It was a shock for all of the in-laws when they saw him, they didn't recognize him. There is now proof for everyone who doesn't believe me: He isn't chubby!

Love your haircut DOOD!
Darwin! What a smashingly handsome boy you are! Your haircut is DA BOMB and it really brings out the show do in you! You look terrific no matter what! Enjoy your romp in the country.
Darwin looks fine in his new haircut. Mitzi gets her hair cut short frequently and she enjoys it, too.
Love the sitting photo - his expression says "ok, I will sit for you - how do you like this!". Darwin looks like a real character!
Oh Darwin, You are one handsome dood either way! Adorable!
He is beautiful no matter what hair do he has.We live on two and a half acers with a pond so we always clip Sadie down in the summer. She loves it .I think she feels lighter and it is better for swimming and being in the boat.
What a cutie either way. I especially like the sitting pic, his expression is priceless
Wow, that a difference, they are so cute either way, I like the fluff too but it is hard for me to make Jack stay long, He mats very easily, hates to be brushed and I feel like it is selfish on my part to keep his hair long just because I like it, He is very long right now but going to the groomers tomorrow,
You saved months and months worth of money getting him groomed short, he looks adorable, and he can now play without those burrs.
He looks frisky and free. Peri likes having her short cut also :)
Although I am a huge fan of the fluffy Darwin, he does look adorable and very happy cut short. I'm guessing he is loving is new freedom to run without the fear of terrible burrs! You photos are wonderful as usual. Those legs go on forever on that boy!
