Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Holly, our year and a half old Goldendoodle, just loves puppies. Although Holly has been spayed; our work with American Maltese Rescue often provides her puppies to love and care for (see my photos for examples of Holly's interaction with little Maltese pups).
A Maltese breeder in the Pacific Northwest has terminal cancer and will soon pass away. The breeder has no one to care for her dogs so, American Maltese Rescue is stepping in to help. Judy is driving from Escondido to Central Oregon tomorrow, with a friend, to pick up six, 8 and 9-week old, puppies and a pregnant female who is scheduled to whelp in about two weeks. I am going to be holding down the homefront with Holly, our four family Maltese and one rescue Maltese who is not quite ready to be placed in a home.
We are fortunate to have a home large enough to care for a bunch of puppies and also fortunate to be retired so we have the time to care for animals in need. Maltese puppies are very much in demand and we will have no trouble placing them as soon as they are old enough.
I am anxious to shoot some more pictures of Holly interacting with the puppies and to place the photos on Doodlekisses. It is absolutely wonderful to have a darling girl like Holly so we don't have to worry about the little pups safety around a sixty-five pound Goldendoodle. Holly is so wonderfully gentle with puppies, she treats them just like she would her own pups, although they are quite a bit smaller.
