Bernie jumps rope...kind of.

So I've taken to jumping rope. Mainly because I was scolded for jogging with Bernie at his age. Still working out how I feel about it, doing some research, but it's on hold for the time being. Walks only. But I need to do more...and jumping rope can be done at any time, it's great for keeping the metabolism up, definitely works muscles most of us neglect, yadda, yadda, yadda. The rope was cheap so it's a worthwhile new venture. 

Anyhow, Bernie thinks we're starting a double dutch team. We're the only ones practicing so I'm thinking he hasn't taken the time to work out the logistics yet. But he'll stare at me from just beyond the rope's reach, poised, waiting for the signal - the signal that never comes. But that doesn't stop him! He charges in, gets swatted every time, then charges back out.

Once he's safely out of reach again he spins around and stares at me with that wild Doodle look in his eye, the look that seems to say "I know that was wrong, but it's too fun to stop!"

One of these times he'll get swatted in the nose and his double dutch dreams will go up in smoke, but until then, I'm going to humor him...

I'll try Caitlin, I'll keep my fingers crossed we get a good shot in before the inevitable rope-to-snout contact occurs! He's made it through his 3rd day of our (my) new jump rope routine so far =)

Well, I force myself to be energetic DeeDee because I work from home! It gets too easy to sit and stare at my computer all day when I should be grateful I can be so available to schedule activity for myself and Bernie! Great ideas about retrieving, Bernie's working on it, we live pretty close to the water, but my husband would like to wait til it warms up in case he has to go in after one of Bern's toys! Two new shoulders and all is well! You have an awesome attitude! But that's how you have to look at it sometimes, lots of great memories can go into the destruction of joints =)
