March is a big month here at our house. It is sadly when we will have the 1st anniversary of loosing our Sophie but it is also the birthday month for both girls and we are going to choose to celebrate those rather than be sad at missing our Sophie ... as she would want us to celebrate! Miss Lucy gets to go first. Today is Lucy's 6th birthday. It is hard to believe that it has been six years since they came home.
We did pretty much everything wrong that one can do by getting them, but we all survived and they were our girls for 5 wonderful years. Lucy isn't so sure that birthdays are much to get excited about as unfortunately she had an appointment today to get started on her Allergy Shots. AnnaBelle went along for morale support and we stopped at PetSmart on the way home. They each got a new toy that I picked up for them in a wonderful little Pet Store that we discovered as we were leaving Jane's house on Saturday. So, here is hoping that Lucy's 6th year will be her best year ever!
As sad as loosing Sophie was for us, the joy that was brought into our lives by adding little AnnaBelle to our family is wonderful. I can't help but feel there is a little of Sophie in this little girl. We lost Sophie on 3-11-13 and AnnaBelle was born on 3-13-13. At the time we didn't know that she was ours as she was supposed to go home with another family. But the stars were aligned and she came home to us on May 8th. Lucy didn't think much of her to begin with, but today they are best of friends. Honey was with us as well to welcome AnnaBelle to the family. There is one little thing that AnnaBelle does that is completely because of what she saw with Lucy and Honey. Most of the time when she wants up on the bed or is getting in the Van she puts her front legs up and stands there like "would someone please get my butt". Honey couldn't jump and Lucy was still recovering from her CCL surgery so I guess AnnaBelle thought that is how you got up on things. We are now teaching her to get her own butt up there! She is such a little cutie pie and has personality plus. She loves her big Sister and everyone she meets. Next week we shall celebrate the Big 1st birthday with AnnaBelle! I cannot believe it has been a year already.
