One of our rescues, a terrier, had begun to bite at the air.  We discussed this with our vet who stated that this was a low grade seizure problem and could be a precursor to a more serious seizure disorder...

We have begun a low dose Phenobarbital regimen which has eliminated the behavior totally.  There seem to be no adverse side effects.  The cost of the medication is not very high and if it prevents more serious seizures, it is well worth the cost and effort.

We had a large dog who had begun gran-mal seizures and the phenobarbital totally solved that disorder.

What a darling dog.  I hope the meds are a perfect solution for him.

Wow he is a really adorable guy - it seems as though your dedication and diligence has prevented more serious health problems.
