Bodi's first day of doggie daycare!

I posted a discussion last week asking for advice about doggie daycare . . . thanks to all of you for your words of wisdom! I took Bodi on Tuesday. He was excited when I pulled into the parking lot, but not so excited when I left. The place keeps small dogs up front with the workers, and there are two separate sections in the back for medium and large dogs. When I picked him up they told me he spent some time up front with them (he is 27 lbs.) but spent the afternoon happily with the medium dogs. He CRIED the whole way home. Oh my heart was breaking . . . . why would he cry?? When we got to the house he ran straight to the door then zoomed inside and drank all of the water in his bowl. (Yes, he did have water at daycare - his beard was WET!) It took him a while to settle down . . . then he slept like a log! My doggie friends think the crying could have been from exhaustion or relief!! (Yes, mommy will pick you up!!) All week he has stood at the door when I am leaving with his tail wagging. Hopefully that means he will want to go back next week.

That sounds like great news that he played happily with the other dogs! Perhaps the whining was relief or maybe a mixture of that and exhaustion? Darwin ALWAYS comes home and drinks his entire bowl of water. But there are bowls lining all of the walls of the daycare so I know he has access to water. Silly pup.

Hi Ann,
I took Bodi to Pawsitively Perfect in Elida. As I said in my discussion I wasn't overly excited about their facility but the only one I had seen was DISNEY on-line!! I plan to take him once or twice a week. But if you are serious, he could come to you and I could give you the $!! Plus I would KNOW 100% that he had a good time with your doods!! Let me know!! doris & Bodi

Me too, Allyson! We would love to have BOTH of your doggies come to play! Maybe next time Mike has to go your way on a business trip I'll be able to tag along and we can meet up.

I think he had a good time :) Peri comes home thirsty as can be - and I know for a fact they provide lots of fresh H20 at her daycare. That's normal. And Peri is always super happy to come home - basically out of exhaustion :)

Ann, sure wish you lived near me! Peri would love to hang with your crew :)

Where do you take Bodi? Do you take him every day or just a couple times a week? Bodi is welcome to come and stay with us a couple days a week too! Just let me know!

It sounds like he had a good time at Daycare...yay!!! My guys both come home thirsty, even though there is plenty of water available at Daycare. I think they get into playing, and they just don't take the time to drink as much as they do normally. Guinness and Murphy love going to Daycare....they can't wait to get in. But when I pick them up they're VERY happy to see me and are very anxious to get back home.
