So we're in earth-shattering heat here in southern Ontario. We're past heat and humidex advisories, and into full-blown weather warnings! As I write this, with the humidity and all, it's about 47C (about 116F). So I've been avoiding taking Lola out, especially since she gets so dramatic with extreme weather conditions. She's been wandering around our (air-conditioned) house all afternoon staring at me and whining. I keep saying "Lola, trust me, it's too hot for doodles. You'll melt!"

So off we went, bottle of doodle water in hand....and she plops right down at the first shady tree....and the second....and the third....and so on. Then she has a VERY loose poop. And then she threw up from drinking too much of the bottled water.

I told you, Lola, it's too hot for doodles!!!!

97 here in Ohio with high high humidity. Crazy, but Daisy still wants to be out. She just lays under a shade tree. However, she is not fooling me because after only 15 minutes I say okay let's go in and no argument....which is not the norm.

Sherri, I think I'd rather have this heat than the winter we had this past year. I couldn't get out of the driveway for a week!!! 116 is definitely better than -47 in my books!!!

Summer is always hot in FL.  I've learned that you get up and out for those walks at the crack of dawn (6:30 a.m.), no later.  Then again in the later evening hours but then you had better put on bug spray or you'll get bitten badly.  Next summer - the doods and I are spending summer in MI.

Yes, it is too hot for doodles and their moms (and everyone else).  This summer has not been the best.  I am kind of bummed because it is almost over for me.  I have to go set up my classroom soon & I haven't been able to spend nearly the outside fun time with Bexter as I want due to the weather.  He HATES the heat.  It is lucky that we have been getting in our short little training walks.  I wait until about 9:00 at night.

Wow 116F! Try to stay inside and stay cool. Poor Lola, but she asked for it lol! :)

I'm hearing on the news all about this really hot weather and I was wondering how you all cope with it.  Lola looks lovely in her Summer cut.  Here in Ireland it is an uneventful Summer which so far has given us intermittent showery weather interspersed with mild Sunny days. Pretty cool actually and we would like a little of your Sun (not the humidity) please.  Next week its due to go up to the late 60's early 70's if we're lucky!

You're tellin me! I bought a bottle of water at the store on my walk with the intention of sharing it with my doodle, but she slurped it all up so quickly. This heat is ridiculous...and to think, 6 months from now it could be -47. WTD?

Cute Picture!

I am near Chicago and it was 103 degrees today with very high humidity.  My dogs went out to pee and right back in the house. I would not leave them out for longer than a few minutes at a time.   Not one of them argued, all three of them gladly came right back in the air. I feel for ya :)

Lola. You should have listened to your mommy!! Smart to catch all the shade you could though!
