Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Saturday we met our first foster doodle. He is a 6 month old labradoodle. Someone adopted him a month ago and he "didn't work out with her maltese". (What was she thinking?) He is a wonderfully engergetic and happy boy. He loves toys and balls and chew things. He is about 50 lbs and very quick and agile. He makes 100 lb Murphy look like the polar bear in that car commercial (I see a diet in Murphy's future)

Murphy is like a grumpy old man but it does seem to bother this guy. He keeps trying to get him to play. He is very well behaved...no accidents He likes being in the same room but doesn't demand your attention. BTW yelling at football games doesn't bother him..

I was happy to see that he doesn't need extensive doggy rehab. Murphy is trying his best to change that. I would say Murphy is acting like a spoiled only child, but it truly is more like a grumpy old man.

Oh Murphy.....Sophie is so feeling your pain right now! She is trying to figure out why Lucy likes to play with Foster Somer! Lucy never likes the Fosters! Why is she playing with Somer. She wants to know why she has been reduced to the bottom of the pack ...... she is one unhappy little girl these days! She got her nose so out of joint yesterday afternoon over a stick! Lucy even stepped in to defend Somer ..... now why would Lucy do that, Sophie just doesn't understand!

He looks SO much like my last foster (Bixby) that I'm freaking out!). Callie sayst to tell Murphy to hang in there....the thing about fosters is that they leave, and until they do you have a playmate!

Share my things??? Bwahahaha! Not only do I not share my things, I do my best to take their things, too! I don't really want them, but it's all about who's in charge!
Murphy, we have been blessed with great size and strength for a reason. Use what God gave you! We are bigger, older, and it's our house! Grabbing them by the scruff of their necks is good, too! Also, just getting them down on the ground and standing over them sends a message. They may end up in some other doodle's house, and we need to train them right! Good luck, and keep me posted!

LOL...Murphy and Jackdoole.....you two have very special moms and it's great that you share your things. Ellie probably feels the same way about Wheezy at times. Murphy I'm glad your mom caught you showing him the alligator!!! hahaha too funny!!

Thanks, Jackdoodle. You really do understand my pain. He pulls my ears and my tail. U growl but I haven't tried rolling him on his back yet. He takes my toys (never mind that I haven't played with them in forever..they are still MINE) and my bed. He never sleeps. I have taught him to throw the tennis ball to himself..he is such a klutz with those big feet..and he can't catch it in his mouth. Useless. He even plays with his tail like the cat. Its so long he probably hit himself in the head with it. Please send more advice. I have to get this guy out of here. (I was showing him the alligator when we were on the dock but Mom caught me....)

Hey, Murphy, Jackdoodle here. I really feel your pain, Bro. What can our moms be thinking, bringing these pesty puppies into our homes to noodgie and take attention away from us? It's only natural that you should feel grumpy. When all else fails, growl and roll the interloper over onto his back...he should "get" that, if he understands Doglish.
Sooner or later, he will leave and you will have your house and your mom to yourself. So be patient; he is only there until he finds a good home like we have. I guess we should feel sorry for these fosters. But asking us to share our moms is asking too much!!!!!!
Your friend,
Jackdoodle
