Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Saturday we met our first foster doodle. He is a 6 month old labradoodle. Someone adopted him a month ago and he "didn't work out with her maltese". (What was she thinking?) He is a wonderfully engergetic and happy boy. He loves toys and balls and chew things. He is about 50 lbs and very quick and agile. He makes 100 lb Murphy look like the polar bear in that car commercial (I see a diet in Murphy's future)

Murphy is like a grumpy old man but it does seem to bother this guy. He keeps trying to get him to play. He is very well behaved...no accidents He likes being in the same room but doesn't demand your attention. BTW yelling at football games doesn't bother him..

I was happy to see that he doesn't need extensive doggy rehab. Murphy is trying his best to change that. I would say Murphy is acting like a spoiled only child, but it truly is more like a grumpy old man.

Charley/Marley is beautiful, and he really looks very content. It sounds like this is second "rehome" in just a month? He must be a resilient guy to have transitioned this smoothly. This is a really great thing that you and Murphy are doing for this guy....thanks, and here's hoping he finds a perfect "forever home".

He is adorable. Just to say, BOTH of my girls are very skiddish around new things and are more submissive dogs. Hopefully his fear was just him being unfamiliar with what the heck that pooper scooper was and not any sign of justified fear. Hopefully. Big snuggles for that pretty boy. Gorgeous picture on the docks.

Oh,, he is adorable! I love those whispy little faces when they are little like that. I find this very interesting because with the problems I've had with Lucy and Sophie being grumpy with my fosters, I have often thought that a one dog household would be best for a foster because the one dog would love having a playmate, but I guess this just goes to show it really is just specific to each dog and how they feel about having another dog around. Have fun ...... an easy first foster gets you in trouble! You'll be back! yeah.

Like most grumpy old men, Murphy secretly doesn't mind the little guy. Congratulations on your first foster, he's cute but looks like his mind is always looking for the next adventure!

He came here as Charlie but it didn't seem to fit. Watching him zoom around the house and pounce on Murphy, my friend thought he was a Marley. I think it fits. Murphy said to tell Gracie Doodle thanks. He doesn't mind sharing as long as they leave. lol I was outside just a few minutes ago and picked up the pooper scooper, Marley cowered like I was going to strike him. Upsetting. But he came back inside and got in Murphy's face.

So are you calling him Charlie or Marley? What a cute guy!! So what is next since he isn't a Foster that needs to have fattening up, socializing and medical care? Do you just love the heck out of him until the forever home comes along? You sure got lucky with your first foster!!! Good Luck! Pats to Murphy too. Gracie Doodle understands. Only now is she enjoying the 9 month old GD that lives across the street. When she was a baby Gracie found her very annoying and she went into total non-aggressive resource guarding. She is now getting much better because she now knows that Bindi is part of the neighborhood and not here to stay in our house or yard!

He is SO adorable. From the looks of the toys and bones around him, he looks like he is in doggy heaven!
